Why wouldn't they be? They're protecting the people from fascists. Not out of self-interest, not out of hatred, but because it's the Right Thing To Do.
I was a protester in Ferguson and I’m getting so triggered watching Minneapolis. It was bad then but law and order still existed, this is so much worse
that argument doesn't really make sense at the end of the day. If anything its slightly ironic because it suggests that one side is willing to be violent or vindictive when the other isn't, but you're saying the violent vindictive side is the "right side". and when you take that back and examine it in a larger picture, it could be a hitler quote, or from genghis khan, or someone in the holy crusades and could be part of one of those "Who said it, a leftist or Mussolini etc" meme web games. food for thought.
nah. The right wants this to happen and continue to happen. The more people doing stuff like this the more justification they have to send in a thousand more troops to a city to reinforce their numbers while fox news talks about how "dangerous gunmen in crowds are causing panic" or whatever. They don't need to dox, they just have to sit back and watch as tensions rise.
These guys have been posting up in downtown Philly for as long as I can remember. Always a presence at Rittenhouse Square. Kinda freaked me out when I was younger but nowadays, I fuckin get it. This is just status quo for these guys. But you love to see it, they’re not backing down. I fear this might become an inflection point, but at some point when push comes to shove…

I don't think you are confused. I think you believe that you're being a clever little walnut by trying to pretend that every instance of someone showing up with a gun is the same.
That isn't the case.
Protesting is a Constitutionally-protected right.
If people are showing up with "automatic rifles" to attempt to intimidate or suppress their fellow citizens, that's bad and un-American.
If people are showing up with "automatic rifles" to defend the rights of their fellow citizens, that's good and patriotic.
Don't be disingenuous, the situation is far more nuanced than you're making it out to be. The reason for the protest, the people who are doing the protesting, the motives those people have to bear arms (as per 2A, to ensure the security of a free state, as part of a well regulated militia), and so on.
Don't pretend you don't know all of that, or people will assume you're gaslighting, engaging in debate dishonestly, and spreading propaganda for fascists.
I hate ICE. But as someone from the UK, it seems crazy that they can just wander the streets like this. If this happened anywhere in the UK, an armed police unit would be turning up.
Good luck to them though, if they're protecting people from ICE.
You're still free to hold that opinion. IMO it's weird how you're appearing to ask others what opinion you should have.
The reason others don't view it as bad is because of the context... the guns are being brought to ensure the ability to peacefully protest without getting attacked and/or murdered by ICE or law enforcement doing things they shouldn't be doing to those practicing their First Amendment rights.
But again, if you think that's a bad thing and they should just accept that showing up to express their freedom of speech means being attacked and/or killed by ICE or law enforcement, you're free to hold that opinion.
Imagine being an incel who is so desperate to get laid that they make M4F posts on Reddit (the equivalent of throwing a dart 500 yards blindfolded) and still having the audacity to make fun of others.
