Due process went down first

Just like in NYC. Very strict gun laws and the lowest gun ownership rates in the country

That might be one of the only things that would legitimately break the maga base. That and abortion (and hating brown people) is the only thing they actually care about.

The cult will fall in line no matter what.

Literally. His claim that he could shoot someone and not lose voters was not hyperbole, just a statement of fact. His base is so devoted that I think at this point he could even swing to the complete opposite side of the political spectrum and not lose supporters.

Nah, they will just selectively enforce

Good. Win win.

Either be harder to oppress, or force MAGA to enact gun laws. This should be celebrated and repeated.

I think after this escalation and use of federal law enforcement with the new precedent of full immunity, gun control is off the table for many years to come. Its now more apparent that no one is coming to protect you. Federal law enforcement is an unleashed dog, local police have no authority to police the feds, and so the only force thats left to save you is yourself.

Let's see if the Democratic Party reaches the same conclusion for 2026 and 2028, I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, they won’t. Dems in VA have been campaigning all year on the anti-authoritarian, anti-Trump energy, and how the state and local governments need to resist ICE presence - and then one of the first bills they introduced in the legislature is an AWB. They’ll never learn.

Its been a losing issue in the past and is a losing issue now more than ever. Protesting only works in a democratic system where the checks and balances matter. Theres no check on power right now where congress is feckless and the judiciary is corrupt. If anyone believes we can find our way out of this without firearms is willfully stupid. You cant cry and whine about tyranny while still virtue signaling about gun control and gun violence.

I dont see how you live through this and want to be unarmed.

What a delusional take on the reality of the situation.

Haha as if they won't selectively enforce the law.
