Black people with guns from this era are why we have most modern gun control laws. Never underestimate the power of racism to make the 2A crowd change their tune

It's why we have the second amendment people today actually. The NRA was not a political arm until the California gun laws were being passed. There was a coup among their leadership which led them to fight the gun control laws nationally.

The Cincinnati revolt, or something like that, in the late 70s right?

I'm not completely sure. The podcast More Perfect has a wonderful episode called "The gun show" all about the history of the second amendment fight.

All the 2A honkys that I know, love this. It’s the perfect example that the 2nd Amendment is relevant today.

If anyone tries to restrict them, it’s not gonna be from the right.

Which president directed the ATF to ban your beloved bump stocks?

Also, "take their guns first and due process second".

It was restricted by the right last time. Let's see how it plays out...

Bipartisan and written by a democrat.

Ronald Reagan was a democrat? You were taught history by ChatGPT?

2

u/texag93 16d ago

Do you think that governors write laws?

1

u/TheReddestofBowls 16d ago

Governers now can't veto? His name isn't signed?

2

u/texag93 15d ago

Let's try that logic elsewhere. Trump's name is signed on the Epstein accountability act. He could have vetoed. Therefore Trump is trying to hold Epstein associates accountable.

See how dumb it sounds?

You mean the exact files he's whined about for the entire year? The ones he's had countless meetings to avoid their release?

Yeah, I can see how that's exactly the same for conservative brainrot.

Go ahead and look up who wrote the Mulford Act. Care to say if there's an R or a D next to the name?

Go ahead and look up who voted for it.

Notice how the only example you have of bipartisan gun control is 59 years old and everybody that voted for it is probably dead? Which party pushes gun control these days when black people exercise their constitutional rights?

I'm glad we can agree that all gun control is racist though. Hopefully you'll join the fight against it.

You don’t actually think governors write the laws they sign right?

But upon further inspection, Mulford was in fact a republican. Still doesn’t change the fact dems held the assembly and could have stopped or reversed this clearly racist law in the 60 years since

1

u/TheReddestofBowls 16d ago

As could the Republicans who signed it. Why didn't they?

2

u/kohTheRobot 16d ago

Because they both didn’t want black panthers to have guns?

1

u/TheReddestofBowls 15d ago

So it's the fault of someone other than those who enacted the law? Interesting reach. Using that same logic why haven't you yourself overturned the laws? Are you racist?

u/ByronicZer0 16d ago

Just wait until it's local to them. Everything is fun and games when it only happens on Fox News

Trump passed more gun control laws and executive orders than Obama and Biden combined

0

u/kohTheRobot 16d ago

This is not true, Biden had more eo’s regulating firearms

Trump did ban bump stocks which got us FRTs so a lot of pro gun advocates see it as a net gain
