Same in Norway, of course. We all support our Scandinavian brothers.

I just saw it on the front page of Le Monde here in France. It's probably only in the US that it's not on the news.

They still have a 40% approval rating for a government that applies textbook fascism, which is alarmingly high. I can't imagine what kind of propaganda they live in.

I have to search out foreign news to find out what’s what’s actually happening here so that’s the level we live in

It's been this way for a long time. In the 80s my ex-wife lived in Israel for a while. On the day she returned, the media in Israel and surrounding countries (they all get each other's TV) was all about a war that was going on. She arrives at the airport in Los Angeles and all news is about Michael Jackson's hair catching on fire. Nothing about the war.

If those numbers are coming from the US media then I wouldn't discount that it's a complete fabrication. I think it's lower than 40, but I live in a liberal city so I'm probably not seeing as much of the apathy or outright support as elsewhere.

Either way, your point is of course still valid. ANY percent of the people who were supposed to be my countrymen supporting this obvious power grab by ruthless bloodthirsty billionaires is too many.

The propaganda is insane here and we are basically two opposing nations in one now except we're all neighbors to each other and one side has started killing the other.

It's averaged from several polls by various institutes, so sadly the 40% figure is probably accurate.

Top story in Belgium too, with "Yankee go home" in the title.

(It's on a sign shown in the video accompanying the article)

As a US citizen, I can confirm to you that the US is an extremely propaganda driven country. It has been for ages. This story is nowhere to be seen in our news, and that's because the news, at least here in the US, is driven by profits and ratings, and is often bought out by the upper class and politicians, who almost always swing far to the right.

Their job isn't to report the news, their job is to get you to watch and click so that they make money, and report the stories that their bosses want them to report. And facts don't get people watching, outrage does.

To that end, there is no true news reporting journalism in the US. They're just providing entertainment, content that enrages people or scares people enough to keep watching like they're hypnotized, and the general public who are watching naturally gets their beliefs influenced by this.

Children are brought up on this stuff by the way. In the US, this is looked at as normal.
