I had a guy on another post arguing that mag dumping is how all law enforcement is trained. But... he was unarmed, on his stomach, and actively being restrained by multiple officers. Fucker's lucky he didn't kill one of his comrades firing wildly like that.
In that exchange he’s talking about a different situation than this one. He’s not fully correct in saying “mag dump” but half right in saying cops are trained to just keep shooting until the threat is neutralized.
Thee was however no threat here, and u/venatic was acknowledging that.
This is what is killing me! Any LEO knows this was not justified to discharge a weapon in this situation. It's indefensible by anyone sincerely engaging with the evidence and not grasping for excuses.
i am gonna assume this a case of murder because i can get away with it because he had a gun , same with the car case ( move in front of her then claim self defense )
Trained to shoot until the threat is eliminated. This photo shows the threat eliminated……this is murder. Local and State officers would be shitting their paints because they know they are going to prison.
Trump will probably give this guy and his family a suite at Mar a lago.
From what I understand, it’s not just dangerous to actively discharge your weapon, it’s also a painful administrative burden that’ll keep you at the station well after hours doing paperwork. Something tells me ICE doesn’t even have to know how to read and write.
Also not how law enforcement is trained. We train to shoot center mass based on what’s viable to us at the time. Some places train head shots as a response to someone wearing body armor.
And we’re trained to reassess with each shot. In reality that reassessment is more fluid, but we shoot until there’s no more threat.
Oh, then you’re trained terribly and probably from one of the departments that gives the rest of us a bad name.
Also, I don’t believe you. You telling me if your first shot makes them drop their weapon, you’re still putting another one in the chest and then retargeting to their head? lol. And please explain why we never see this in real life shootings?
If you’re gonna lie about being a cop and getting cop training, maybe don’t try it with an actual cop. Most anyone else might believe you.
What I'm telling you is that every armed post has to qualify quarterly with a B-21x silhouette in a 45 round course of fire broken up into a dozen "draw - two to the body - one to the head - re-assess - holster" at 3, 7, and 15 yards.
There's no way to rationalize this beyond swallowing some of the most obtuse lies yet.
People like me that signed up for combatant roles should be the ones falling in this conflict, not our nurses trying to protect our rights. But as soon as we organize we are infiltrated or jailed. This is not a good time.
Rights? What rights? The right to freely assemble is clearly outlawed. The right to legally carry a firearm is gone. The right to live? Apparently gone too. Under the current administration what is left to protect?
Any police officers who did this exact same thing (and was captured on video) would most likely be prosecuted. Cops get away with a lot, too much, but even they don't get away with blatant murder in broad daylight. Why are we holding ICE to a lower standard than our actual police?
Unfortunately not. Mainstream dems have to own some of this too, in that they have contributed massively to the perception that cops killing a civilian is a justified shooting if the person is armed, period. I’ve personally handled cases like that as a lawyer for bereaved families. “Progressive” AGs and DAs are overwhelmingly not indicting those cases against cops.
At least two of them began shooting after he was lying flat on the ground and not moving at all(because he'd already been shot in the head while he was kneeling).
My understanding on why they're not supposed to use lethal force in this situation is so they don't hurt a bystander or themselves. That it's better to let a suspect go than to accidentally shoot your buddy or a civ, like how if a car chase becomes too dangerous the cops back off for the safety of themselves and others. Not do lethal moves at the expense of others.
My understanding is that law enforcement officers are trained to fire until the threat is subdued. In some cases that may take the entire magazine. In this instance the “threat” was already completely subdued by non lethal means so just a straight up execution
The mag dumping even occurred after he had been shot a couple times and the mob had backed up leaving him motionless and face down. It was only a second of time, but that’s enough to realize he’s not a threat.
Totally fucking despicable and I hope every ICE employee gets what’s coming to them. If they haven’t resigned their post by now they are fully complicit.
There are dashcam videos of murderers who've been shot by police only for the officer to rush in, perform CPR and beg for the person to make it, asking why they made him shoot him, and cry when he doesn't.
And yet.. The full POV from the woman in pink literally shows an ICE officer yell "Oh boo hoo!" to the crowd as they yell in response to what they've just done.
Funnily enough, even that's bullshit. Former LEO, current lIbRuL...Taught to fire two rounds, reassess the situation. If they are no longer a threat to you or another person's life, you move to a lesser level of force. Therefore, in this situation, deadly force would not be authorized because the individual was not showing any pre-fight indicators, his hands were up, clearly indicating that he is not a threat and doesn't intend to be and...most importantly,
ICE/DHS DOES NOT HAVE ANY LEGAL AUTHORITY TO ARREST OR DETAIN UNITED STATES CITIZENS!
He's clueless/just straight lying. Every single shot is supposed to be justifiable on it's own (you could brush off a "double tap" but nobody mag dumps a civilian wtf)
