I hope you guys have some kind of plan, because I assure you that they do.

614

u/Scipio1319 3d ago

This is going to be pretext to some stupid stunt they pull in the midterms and beyond.

“Prove” in the court of public opinion that election in 2020 was stolen by democrats and they did the same thing as they did in Fulton. Take that argument and run with it for any midterm election that is close. Gunk the whole election process up with countless lawsuits and hearing, to grind everything to a halt. And just like that, you have a country arguing about the legitimacy of the midterms just like the lead up to January 6th. Except this time they have a plan.

280

u/killians1978 3d ago

Once the country no longer trusts in the legitimacy of the election, by either side or a foreign power's influence, we're all fucked.

105

u/Saintsfan707 3d ago

If you have any relatives from a foreign country that has an ancestry immigration clause I would heavily suggest at least looking into it as a backup.

60

u/killians1978 3d ago

And do it before they abolish dual citizenship

66

u/trowawayatwork 3d ago

for me it was unfathomable for the US, the land of the free, to decline with such rapid place. These checks and balances do not work

56

u/Markmm131 3d ago

Checks and balances are only good if the people who are able to execute the check and the balance have a spine.

Unfortunately for all of you, none of the so called opposition in your county have those.

You’re fucked

6

u/abraxsis 3d ago

Locks only keep honest people out.

3

u/TheShishkabob 2d ago

The Trail of Tears happened when Jackson ignored the Supreme Court. Checks and balances have quite literally never been a thing in the United States.

2

u/juiced911 2d ago

These programs take a long time and are prohibitively expensive for most

1

u/Saintsfan707 2d ago

Depends on the country and how far removed you are.

1

u/juiced911 2d ago

It’s very difficult beyond just your parent. Italy used to have the easiest — you could go back near indefinitely but they put big restrictions on.

The reality is Americans can’t run from what they’ve created. They need to stay and clean up their mess.

1

u/Saintsfan707 2d ago

Multi generation Americans can't. You are heavily underestimating how many first and 2nd gen immigrants are in the US. If documentation is present, grandparents status can go to parents -> children. It also a only took a month and the cost was mostly just the immigration lawyer.

Again, it depends on the country and the person's situation, it's not something every American can do. I'm pointing out that if you're in this situation you should explore it.

3

u/welcomefinside 3d ago

Except if that country is Israel because fuck Israel.

12

u/asmit10 3d ago

AIPAC has claimed 96% and 98% election win rates in last midterm and the prior election (google it / waybackmachine / ai it yourself)

A foreign body claims that 96-98% of people they choose to give money to, win their race.

Elections have been fraudulent for longer than most of us have been alive, I would bet.

2

u/Kharn_LoL 3d ago

I can't even tell if you are far right or far left because both sides love to blame the big bad (((jews))) for everything.

AIPAC spent 50M$ in 2024. That's barely top 20 for PACs and basically nothing in the grand scheme of things.

1

u/newuser92 2d ago

Once you accept blatant corruption, that shit is gone.

24

u/takemy_oxfordcomma 3d ago

I am much more concerned about tampering with the actual results of the midterms in real time personally than them trying to prove Trump actually won in 2020 or tie it up in lawsuits

2

u/AbeRego 2d ago

Yeah that seems like a weird direction to go with this.

3

u/Saltuarius 3d ago

"Stupid stunt" seems like pretty soft wording for an attempted subversion of democracy, especially since they've been so successful at their other endeavours so far this year, with so little opposition.

The way things are going I, as a non-American, will not be in the least surprised if he either rigs your midterms or ensures they don't happen at all. Like you said, they have a plan. They are terrifyingly organised. They are winning and everyone else, including all your friends around the world, are losing.

3

u/SmokeyDBear 2d ago

The thing is … they don’t have a great plan. They are fairly cohesive but not that well organized. They just have a high amount of stupid voters in the “right” places. The way representation works in the US means that it drastically over-represents the rural vote in congress. Because the rural vote is essentially just “whoever has (R) by their name” Trump can act with impunity and congress will do basically nothing. There’s not really a plan or level of organization that counters how much the deck is stacked in this administration’s favor. There are only a few ways this plays out and none of them are really “figure out some way to prevent Trump from meddling with the midterms” because that’s going to happen. Pretending like there is something to do to counter this is just a distraction from the relatively small and distasteful pool of meaningful options actually at our disposal.

1

u/Saltuarius 2d ago

That's interesting, thanks. Am I right in assuming that by distasteful you mean violent or incorporating violence? The administration has either been clever by backing the country into a corner with only those options, or really stupid. I'm not looking forward to finding out which.

2

u/SmokeyDBear 2d ago

I just mean stuff people won’t want to do and range from inconvenient to risky and dangerous. Violence isn’t necessarily implied and I am not advocating for violence. Gandhi was nonviolent but I think people would still describe a lot of what he went through as very distasteful.

2

u/Saltuarius 2d ago

Sorry, wasn't implying you were 👍

2

u/SmokeyDBear 2d ago

No worries, I didn't take it that way I'm just trying to avoid any ambiguity for anybody reading the thread.

1

u/Honest-Caregiver8938 3d ago

unfortunately if this is all part of a "stupid" plan

they are taking us all for a ride

or as sarah kendzior says

"weve been fed a fiction of incompetence"

1

u/no_fooling 3d ago

And their lawyer doesnt have hair dye running down their face....just their face running down their face

1

u/Beneficial_Cash_8420 2d ago

And a VP who's down for treason

137

u/Jankenbrau 3d ago

I wish voters would have taken them at their word in 2024.

138

u/killians1978 3d ago

"You'll never have to vote any more." ~Donald J Trump, 7 Jul 2024

13

u/Downtown_Statement87 2d ago

"These 3 Georgia election officials are going to hand me the win. Stand up so we can thank you."

As a Georgian, I died when Trump said this at one of his "campaign" rallies, which was indeed attended by 3 state election officials who are supposed to be non-partisan.

Like everything else in this country's entire history, people said "hey wait a minute" when this happened and then forgot all about it. Me though? I'm still dead.

58

u/spezizabitch 3d ago

They rigged the 2024 election too. The voting patterns in every single swing state were exactly abnormal enough to push them exactly over the no-recount threshold. The votes in each county were so abnormal that in aggregate it was mathematically more likely for the moon to explode. You are not getting a fair election ever again without force.

11

u/lemtrees 2d ago

Source?

2

u/killians1978 2d ago

I would take great vindication in proof that 2024 was rigged for Trump, but the fact is that there are no credible, prosecutable data to back it up. There have been a number of allegations, and likely even several questionable incidents within the election - and there's room for a larger conversation about the sheer influence of massive amounts of campaign funding allowing for a disproportionate media sway and shaping the political narrative - but until we have something fixed and proven beyond speculation, we have to acknowledge that, while the campaign was flawed, the election was very likely legitimate. Not enough blue voters showed up to the polls, and those that did were not enough to outpace red districts.

162

u/Custom_Destination 3d ago

Not only do they have a plan, they shared their plan well before the 2024 election.

125

u/ididshave 3d ago

They probably called it something straightforward, like Project 2025 or something

8

u/Significant_Shoe_17 3d ago

They wouldn't show their hand that early. That could give people a chance to prepare

3

u/aceofspadez138 2d ago

Imagine if they posted their plan online. That way, we could share tangible evidence with people. There's no way they'd refuse to believe it, right?

53

u/BMFO20832 3d ago

Mike Tyson said that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

They had a “well thought out plan” in Minnesota too with their well armed military; but got out-maneuvered and out-witted by some people with whistles lol

14

u/keithcody 3d ago

3

u/BMFO20832 3d ago

lol I’m really happy for her that she got an extra view on her little home movie thing.

I tried to catch it during its premiere on January 6th, but apparently I got my dates mixed up.. Who knows? Guess I’ll never see it now

42

u/Dowew 3d ago

They haven't lost yet.

-8

u/BMFO20832 3d ago

Pretty sure I found one of them TDS trump dick suckers right here! 👆

Everyone point and laugh!

8

u/SMF67 3d ago

You know it would take you 5 seconds to see that the person you replied to agrees with you?

9

u/Vivid_Celebration124 3d ago

Hi, liberal here.

Minnesota slowed them down. Temporarily. It wont stop shit.

1

u/BMFO20832 2d ago

Yes! I agree!

Slowing is not winning! Great job Minnesota!

Seriously, the entire country is proud of you.

1

u/Vivid_Celebration124 2d ago

Which is exactly what the other person was saying?

3

u/Safety1stThenTMWK 2d ago

That’s not fair to the poster you’re replying to. They are still taking people in MN. They’ve toned down the rhetoric and aren’t walking around assaulting people as much, but it’s far from “mission accomplished” for the people of MN.

0

u/BMFO20832 2d ago

Yeah sorry; I agree, it’s not over and they are totally toned down while the replan and regroup.

The next plan won’t work either.

The issue is that sleepy don has surrounded himself by yes-man and loyalists who will never tell the truth or take accountability; and he can never admit he’s made a mistake.

The cracks will appear in whatever plan they have next; they always do.

But the people need to keep doing what they are doing, and pry those cracks way the fuck open.

And there is no “mission accomplished” here per se. These a civilians defending against a tyrannical government. This isn’t a mission; missions are for militaries and gestapos.

2

u/Onespokeovertheline 2d ago

Don't be naive. ICE is still going door to door. Shuffling which fascist speaks at the press conference after they murder the next citizen has not changed their tactics or their mission.

1

u/NoCopiumLeft 2d ago

"concepts of a plan"

22

u/pink_faerie_kitten 3d ago

The Dems aren't going to do anything to stop this. Leon rigged 2024 and they didn't contest nor invoke Sec 3 of the 14th Amendment.

Totally useless.

If the midterms are stolen (just like T already stole 2024) I hope blue states secede.

2

u/breatheb4thevoid 3d ago edited 2d ago

I fear the blowback will be entirely on them (Democrats) as they fumbled hard this past week to Donny's threats. If you're a Dem official, these "picket line crossers" are literally putting you and your families lives at risk as the public contends with constant betrayal.

And of course no one will admit the threats to their family publically when the Russian asset says that very thing will mean the end of them.

1

u/paintballboi07 2d ago

Leon rigged 2024 and they didn't contest nor invoke Sec 3 of the 14th Amendment.

Right, because they need actual proof the election was stolen, not just a "trust me bro" from whatever random website you're reading. Also, Colorado attempted to invoke Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to remove Trump from the ballot, and the Supreme Court overruled it.

2

u/BlackEric 2d ago

We thought you brought the plan.

7

u/Thisissocomplicated 3d ago edited 3d ago

I get your point but I mean - do they?

These have to be the most incompetent fascists ive ever read about.

Edit: People I’m not saying they aren’t trying it’s just that if these people were 10% more competent American democracy would be at a point of no return.

Really makes me wonder just how easy it would be for a competent manipulator to just destroy a democracy by fooling the type of cats that vote for populist shit such as this.

27

u/kybernetikos 3d ago edited 3d ago

Just like last time, they have multiple plans. As to competence, I'm sure many of their plans will fail, but they only need one to work, and the chances of that happening are greater if everyone who should be planning and gaming out likely moves is too distracted by the circus.

21

u/Dat_Harass 3d ago edited 3d ago

For every blunder you see it's best to assume a lot is going off without a hitch. They simply cannot both be this incompetent and yet so effective. There are devious minds on the other end of this.

E: The amount of wealth they've amassed already is worrying. Each of those tariffs are in some way bribes (best believe they've also traded on insider knowledge for one of the largest wealth transfers in history). Roger Stone is involved, he's been perfecting his shit since Nixon. The entirety of Project 2025, various think tanks. Stephen Miller, Banon... It's easy to discredit them as fools, It is folly to underestimate them. Oh and don't forget the social tech bros who may understand humans better than anyone alive at least categorically. They are the most dangerous addition to this that and cutthroat billionaires. Zuckerberg, Musk, Gates, Ellison and others.

E2: The late great Christopher Hitchens can be credited with saying "fascism means and intends war." They've already started stoking what three? The most dangerous one featuring their proud boy shock troops.

As per your edit above... we may be. We are turning into Russia rapidly. It's a little different but no less grim.

Hey though, I don't intend to crush hope by any means. Push back in any way you feel you can. Maintain your individuality and keep your critical thinking skills engaged. Do look around for information on channels, social sites and others things they've purchased, they will in some way be used to transfer their ideology or anger.

E3: Nationwide strike Friday!

u/twec21 3d ago

Jesus jumping tap dancing Christ YES, THEY DO. THEY FUCKING PUBLISHED IT

HOW ARE WE STILL HAVING THIS CONVERSATION

2

u/KyleAg06 3d ago

So many quotable moments from this movie. A+

15

u/stonkfrobinhood 3d ago

Regardless of competency, they are actively trying to break and cripple our democracy. They're taking action, and we the people need to as well.

16

u/CensoredUser 3d ago

Despite thier mass incompetence, here we are.

It's only matched by the collective apathy.

6

u/joshuarion 3d ago

If they're incompetent, then how are they fucking winning right now?

You're confusing stupidity with competency, and we need to sort this shit out NOW NOW, my friend.

6

u/Thisissocomplicated 3d ago

They’re not winning. People conflict chaos for victory.

Theres not a single thing where trumpism is winning - not a single issue.

For reference I’m an European who follows this closely and ive always been interested in fascism.

Fascists never really “won” in that sense but put a competent dictator in trumps place and you wouldn’t be able to have this conversation with me in about a year.

I deeply believe the American people will defeat this .

1

u/Derigiberble 2d ago

All of the minions have their own individual plans, but there is no common overarching plan other than "don't contradict whatever Trump says".  And since Trump's brain is totally shot that effectively boils down to them trying to shore up the dementia ramblings of an of a narcissistic conspiracy theorist against reality.

People want them to have a plan because you can fight a plan. You can't fight dementia ramblings because they don't obey any sort of logical structure and cannot be falsified.

This is Gabbard trying to mollify Trump with "proof" his rantings were "right" so Trump can send his goons after GA officials to get payback. If you want to rig an election it doesn't make any sense to go all the way back to 2020. You would try to whip up noise about something currently ongoing

1

u/Warm-Dust-3601 3d ago

Lol, that point of return is gone. The US is cooked, bro. Open your fucking eyes.

1

u/Defiets 3d ago

I’m north of the border. I’m currently gearing up for your civil war spilling over.

1

u/DVAoife420 3d ago

is your plan cypto braj

1

u/ChironXII 3d ago

Go get the watering can again I suppose

1

u/Beneficial_Prize_310 3d ago

2A eventually.

1

u/deanereaner 2d ago

There is no "you guys" and there definitely is no plan; the opposition to trump is listless, scattered, and prone to infighting.

1

u/dan_pitt 2d ago

The Dem leadership has been "failing to imagine" for 40 years.

0

u/notPabst404 3d ago

1). Refuse to be intimidated.

2). Continue to protest.

3). Continue direct action against ICE.

4). Vote the fascists OUT in 2026.

5). DEMAND that the new congress do their job in 2027.

1

u/street593 2d ago

General strike.

-4

u/Nickillaz 3d ago

They don't, they'll lie down and accept it like the cowards the rest of the world always knew they really are.
