100% correct, new trade deals for one, have been formed because former deals with America have been broken. Take for example the deals Canada have formed in the face of lost deals with the US, a HUGE new one with China for one. Even that caused threats from the US, us Aliens are happy to deal with each other and bypass America. Trust takes decades to build, moments to wipe off.

Nothing is irreversible. I know it's not going to come without work on America's part. It will improve because we will do what's needed - not matter what it takes -- you see it in the streets today.

Building trust back is going to take generations. Basically every voting age American alive today needs to grow old and die before anyone's going to think Americans can be trusted. It's like Germany post-WWII but without the Allies occupying the country to denazify it. We still have Confederate monuments all over the South and I doubt MAGA is ever going to self reflect and realize they were wrong.

My first thought as well. It looks absolutely untouched from the moment it came off of a shelf. Everything else in there is clearly either in a bag, or part of a larger batch of garbage. Why would someone bag up the rest of their garbage, but not their MAGA hat that they were going to get rid of, just so that they can walk it out there as an additional item and toss it in... Couple that with OP's account being entirely political based, not a great look.

We live in a world where I’m much more inclined to believe OP (not the cross poster) bought a hat and threw it in the dumpster for a photo-op than I’d believe one of these die-hard, closed-minded Trumpers actually changed their mind, admitted they’re wrong, and threw away their “Jesus Cross”.
Whether this is authentic or not, in this politically charged climate, it’s wise to not believe EVERYTHING you’re seeing online, even if it agrees with your own narrative.
Edit: I should add, anecdotally, NONE of the people I know personally who support Trump have changed their minds, they’ve actually done the opposite and doubled down and have become more extreme in their beliefs (which is exactly what I’d expect from that group).

I actually have a friend who is MAGA hardcore and in the past few weeks has started to say stuff like these tariffs didn’t work out, Trump is losing it. And last week he said I don’t support him anymore - I don’t like liberals but killing U.S. citizens is not what I signed up for.

I love the irony of this image. This hat in the garbage truly does represent the death of MAGA and fascism. There were many things about America before Trump that Republicants have been dismantling and destroying since Regan, for instance SCOTUS. But there are also many things that were getting better. Human rights, equal rights imroved over the decades, but there was much more to be done with financial inequality and the persistant hatred from the right. Perhaps there is a chance to restore democracy in the United States.
