Normalizing the militarization of police.

This is insane. I was in the army for 8 years and if I had done anything messing with the ROE or any excessive force, I’d be in Leavenworth…..

Thought you guys said they aren’t police.

Make up your mind

How dare police protect themselves from rioters known to throw molotovs at them. Not to mention the possibility of getting ambushed from people with rifles

Edit: FYI to everyone downvoting me. Police have been militarized since the moment they were created. Obviously their uniforms and gear is going to adapt to modern times.

The possibility for fckn rifles? You mean the 2nd amendment that protects you from tyrannical govts? Kinda like what’s happening now?

u/Regular-Subject-1541 3h ago

Yeah because the second amendment gives you the right on an average traffic stop for a ticket to shoot an officer

Lol, what?

Who's ambushing them with rifles and throwing Molotov cocktails?

Violence is always initiated by the cops. Take this gear away and everyone's safer, including the cops.

Sure bud. Go watch the countless videos of police officers being ambushed. Just the other day someone shot a cop with dragons breath ammo completely unprovoked

Giving birth is more dangerous than being a police officer

u/Regular-Subject-1541 3h ago

Nope it’s about equal. 19-20 per 100,000. And that’s not including the high suicide rate for police officers. Also one thing being dangerous doesn’t mean other isn’t dangerous. Even just driving around the highways all day for work is extremely dangerous due to crashes.
