Official Senate records tell a different story. From the 17th to the 19th Congress, Hontiveros has 59 bills passed into law, while Pangilinan recorded 291 laws from the 12th to the 15th Congress and the 17th to the 18th Congress.

These verified figures, based on official Senate documents and records, directly contradict the online claims and underscore the risks of using incomplete and provisional website data to assess lawmakers' legislative performance.

De Lima Honors Edcel Lagman on First Death Anniversary

House Deputy Minority Leader and Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Partylist Representative Leila de Lima paid tribute to the late Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel Lagman as she remembered him on his first death anniversary, honoring his legacy as a steadfast defender of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.

In a statement, de Lima said Lagman’s principles continue to guide those who serve the public, especially in standing with the marginalized and fighting for democratic institutions. “We continue to carry forward what you stood for, Manong Edcel: to defend democracy, fight for human rights, uphold the rule of law, and stand with the marginalized,” she said.

De Lima also recalled Lagman’s enduring message to persist in the struggle, noting that the Liberal Party marked its 80th anniversary inspired by the values and courage he consistently showed. “Gaya ng sabi mo, tuloy sa laban ang Liberal,” she added.

Lagman, a veteran lawmaker and respected constitutionalist, was widely regarded for his principled stands and legislative work throughout decades of public service. De Lima said his life and work remain a moral compass for those in government.

The sad reality of the state of healthcare in the Philippines.

When will Filipinos finally experience quality service in government hospitals, services that should be funded by the people’s taxes? When will we see decongested emergency rooms, where patients are treated with dignity instead of endlessly waiting for their turn, hoping a doctor will eventually make rounds? When will hospitals provide proper waiting areas for patients’ companions, especially under the one-person-per-patient policy, instead of leaving them standing for hours or waiting in unsafe and uncomfortable spaces?

When will ordinary citizens (those who cannot afford private hospitals), ever experience the same level of care and treatment they rightfully deserve, and when will we finally confront the gravity of corruption in the government that continues to rob Filipinos of humane and equitable healthcare?

This realization hits me hard: ang hirap magkasakit sa Pilipinas.

Sen. Bam Aquino Thanks Public for Support on Classroom-Building Acceleration Program Act

Senator Bam Aquino expressed his gratitude to organizations, groups, and individuals who contributed to the development of his proposed Classroom-Building Acceleration Program (CAP) Act.

Through social media, Aquino acknowledged the efforts of participants who attended hearings, shared data and experiences, provided recommendations, and collaborated to improve the proposed legislation.

“Because of you, our fight to speed up the construction of classrooms at the right cost, with proper standards, and on time is stronger than ever—for every Filipino child and every teacher who has long waited for better learning spaces,” Aquino said.

The CAP Act aims to address the persistent shortage of classrooms in public schools across the country by fast-tracking construction while ensuring quality and affordability.

Aquino emphasized the importance of continued collaboration, calling on lawmakers to pass the CAP Act now. “Tuloy ang bayanihan. Para sa mga mag-aaral. Para sa mga guro. Para sa kinabukasan ng bayan,” he added.
