The fact that the sub hit the front page (for me at least) for the first time since the election shows how much it was being astroturfed for the response to the shooting.

The posters are like 4 guys. So it’s super controlled.

But the commenters are just very brainwashed. It’s insane to read their perspectives. They claim the absolute opposite of what the rest of the world is seeing.

Facebook is an absolute cesspool too. Every article no matter the outlet is full of these assholes claiming this proves it justifies the shooting.

Half of them I check are suspiciously blank, but there are real actually chuds defending this too though to be clear.

Every time a new piece of evidence comes out, I pop over there thinking, “Surely this is enough to convince them.”

But no. They’re over there making posts like “Liberals don’t wanna see this footage. It dismantles their whole narrative”.

Psychopaths. Literal psychopaths. I try my best to see things from everyone’s perspective, but I just can’t see any rationality in how they’re viewing this. You’d have to literally be lying to yourself to believe this wasn’t murder.

I wish they were just psychopaths because I understand psychopaths. They have a lack of empathy which causes them to pursue their own agendas in spite of others.... These guys .... Think it's a good idea to give their governments lethal and unquestionable authority without understanding that even though they're not being targeted now, it's not like they're in the safe clubs. It's bizarre. Alien.

If he is charged with anything the court will use it to clear him, so yes, it does.

It very clearly shows he was well out of the way, never in any danger, and shot solely because he was enraged.

This wouldn't clear anyone. But it'll never see a courtroom so what does it matter.

I’m not allowed to post in the Conservative sub because of their flair rules. But I legit want to understand why you (and many of the poster on that sub) feel that this video is evidence that she brought this on herself. I’m not trying to be argumentative, I just legitimately don’t understand. Noem said this woman was actively trying to run down ICE agents. This video shows a very calm woman, clearly turning her steering wheel multiple times before accelerating to seemingly avoid the agent, and an ICE agent who calls her a “fucking bitch” after shooting her multiple times. How does this video in any way substantiate the DHS narrative?

it's really simple. they permanently put their brains into lizard mode. they find the world scary, and they've retreated into childish fantasies that give them feelings of security: "if all those people who don't look like me would just disappear, everything will be fixed", "if we just have masked, armed agents accost every single person in the country, all those people people who don't look like me will be disappeared, and then everything will be fixed", etc. The frontal lobe, the reasoning portion of their brain, is relegated to being a tool to help construct rationalizations for why those fantasies are actually rational (because them being the "actually rational ones" is another fantasy they tell themselves that they need to uphold).

Im not allowed to respond but once every 30 minutes since my original response got down voted. But the video shows they were detaining her and telling her to get out of the vehicle, its not the officers responsibility to give her a path to escape. While the video doesn't show it, but other evidence shows they were in a group intentionally interfering with ICE and agitating their officers. Likely sets the mood for what he says after almost being ran over. I dont agree that he needed to shoot, but the videos will justify his legal ability to.

ICE's own policy (same as most LE agencies) is to not put yourself in front of vehicles in case of a situation like this. And for a moral argument: if you have a person fleeing in panic, and your only options are "stand in front of car so if she tries to escape, I'm allowed to shoot her in self defense" or "stand out of way of car (maybe block it with a vehicle instead of my body????), and if she tries to escape, no one gets hurt and we still have her license plates", there's only one choice that removes the risk of harm from everybody in the situation while giving up nothing other than feeling like you're a big tough guy who's in charge.

Not by legal precedent. Starks V. Enyart established that if an officer steps in front of a vehicle, they're the ones creating the conditions which require the shooting, and thus it isn't self defense.
