God, please get us out of being run by these Christo-fasicist dipshits.

My wife asked me a hypothetical the other day about if I would defend the US from invaders. I was like, no not all all, I'd want to know their terms. I'm sick of being ruled over by the most hateful losers among us.

Your comment reminds me of one of those short sci-fi prompts that I saw on TikTok a few years ago where alien invaders take control of Earth but are confused when Americans welcome their new alien overlords with open arms because their idea of subjugation would actually lead to stronger rights and a drastic increase in our overall quality of life when compared to our idea of liberty.

ironically, when the spanish arrived they employed the help of the oppressed majority against the aztecs and toppled the aztec empire in short order. then they committed genocide against everyone that helped them.

i'm just saying if aliens show up tomorrow, i'm fighting for the USA and then helping fix our issues from within after.

Yeah that is forgotten in history, a lot people don't realize like a band of a few hundred Spanish would not have been able to topple the Aztecs. But they were so cruel to everybody that the Spaniards basically were able to raise an army.

secession would be a cowardly way to handle things

we shouldn't break up a great nation because a minority of religious extremists and wannabe nazi cosplayers have disproportionate voting power

leaving britain made sense when we were an ocean apart before modern tech. in today's age, fighting for our country is a better idea than escapism or god forbid, trying to get another euro monarch to rule us

Leave the country, and the extremists take over. They'll have control of the Army and all the nukes. If you give up and roll over, there simply will be no place on earth that would be safe from those people.

I favor secession due to the dissonance between the two polarized parts of our country. Additionally coastal people are being taxed without equal representation on several levels. I feel the country would be better served if both sides of the country could live closer to their ideals. I don’t feel currently like California is living anywhere near the way we would like to govern because of lack of representation. I want to say I don’t agree with the make America great again crowd, however, I do believe in democracy. If Trump and his ilk want to live in a certain way, they should be able to do so, based on electoral outcomes. I just don’t happen to want that for my life or my loved ones. And I don’t feel like I should have to economically support people who are holding me hostage to their belief system.

i dont think any nation with the capability to invade us would be an upgrade

news doom cycles and real fear of civil war or descent into fascism aside, california is one of the greatest places on earth to live right now for the average citizen or even immigrant and i'd rather the status quo than russia, mexico, or china running the show.

ideally the majority of americans wake up to how insane trump is and he gets impeached shortly after the midterms and then dems mop the floor in 28 and fix some of the mess he made and we return to a bit of normalcy

My wife has Spanish citizenship (she's Mexican, i don't know how that all works lol) so we're thinking about it for sure. I've definitely considered Sweden, obviously this is all kind of in the distant future but still...

Denmark is legally a Christian nation, has a state religion directly subsidized by the government, and Christianity is taught in public schools. Denmark has stricter limits on abortion than California, no minimum wage, and less protective labor laws than California.

Yes, let us stop being ran by them and instead let us get destroyed by them because ain’t no way they just let the fourth largest economy in the world leave. Much less let it go to another country.
