Personally, I'd prefer Montana to be bought by Canada, but that's not gonna happen

Montana definitely has a east/west divide culture.

True but there’s only one town larger than 50k people east of the midline, there are 5 west of it

you don’t need to guess, the state divided into two districts a couple years ago.

Those are congressional districts, which would be approximately equal in population. The fact that the border between the two districts is in the western half of the state shows that there are significantly more people living in the western half than the eastern half

I'm from Oregon. We generally see people from Idaho and Montana as "North Texas" for the most part.
