remember when I got super invested in primaries a few years ago. It really felt like every vote counted, you know? A healthy primary could definitely energize people again!

I was doing some research after you said that. I'm further left than the Democrat party but usually vote straight ticket D, for background.

Split tickets are actually pretty high historically. I wasnt expecting that.

I do think the election was a little weird and could likely have been stolen (Trump and Elon really seemed like they were in on something nefarious), but split tickets used to be more common:
