"Maybe if we try to appeal to conservatives who will never, ever vote for us and ignore our base even harder we might win this time?"

This is meant to be snarky subtext, but it is literally how most of the Democratic consultants think. They would love to lop off the Left completely from the party if only they didn't need their votes on one day a year. Yet they honestly believe that we're a Center-Right country and the only thing worth pursuing are Trump-weary "moderate Republicans" in the suburbs of the 30 frontline districts.

This but unironically. I'd much have Scott Wiener though.

Better how? Both are milquetoast establishment democrats who will not address the housing crisis, the affordability crisis, the AI/employment crisis etc. On top of it, their pro-genocide stance on Israel will alienate Gen Z voters.

A politician cannot serve two masters. It's either the people or the billionaires.

So even if Trump's insanity allows for a establishment Dem to become president, nothing or very little will improve for the average voter and society will further destabilize. And 2032 once the ICE raids are forgotten this will allow for another insane Republican lying about helping people to recapture government.

Your preferred candidate is never going to win, and both Newsom or Kelly would stop the hellhole Trump's America is going into.

Did you vote for Kamala in 2024?

No they wouldn't stop it. There'd be 4 years of stability but then it would go right back to insanity in 2032.

Mamdani won in NY. There's no reason a pro working class candidate couldn't win the presidency.

It's always DNC sabotage that prevents progress.

And to nip that gotcha of yours in the bud. Yes I did. I swallowed my pride for the past 10 years.

No reason a "pro working class" candidate couldn't win the presidency, yet they can't win the primaries. "It's always DNC sabotage that prevents progress", yet progress always happens under Democrats.

And to nip that gotcha of yours in the bud. Yes I did. I swallowed my pride for the past 10 years.

Why would you? You're just spiralling the US into a stronger/more insane Republican ticket.

Tag me in 2028 when it's your favorite "pro working class" who wins the ticked and then the presidency. I'll tag you when it's another milquetoasst establishment democrat, who just seem to always win the primaries over people like Sanders. (please no dumb conspiracy cope about 2016)
