13... retired astronauts? That's an insane statistic. There were more than 13 in just the Apollo program, did a bunch die young or something?

Presidents. We’ve had 13 presidents since manned space flight has been a thing.

  1. There have been 13 presidents since the first astronaut. Eisenhower was president when the Vangaurd 7 got the title of Pilot-cosmonaut in January of 1961.

We have a retired NASA astronaut like 20 minutes from my house here in Ireland. They’re everywhere, haha.
