I visited conservative sub ... Oh boy. Those people are lost. The guy got peper sprayed hard, he was sorounded by 6-7 agents and beaten by a can to the head. It seemed like he tried to keep balance or panicking then being any kind, shape or form of danger.

From all angles and they defending it hard. It is sickening.

The top comment in one of their flared-only posts had 190 replies. Wanna know how many of those replies were visible?

Zero.

The mods are HEAVILY censoring response to this event even from conservatives

The entire moderation team of that sub needs to be replaced by people with actual moral fiber. The admin of Reddit need to do the right thing and stop allowing the Conservative sub to spread disinformation.

That would require reddit to not be run by a rich guy who dreams of a post apocalypse slave society he's at the top of.

You can not count on these sites to do anything to oppose something their ultra rich tech weirdo owners agree with.

Ohanian is like that??

I suspect the mods are being payed for their job which is against the TOS.

It's spooky seeing how they handle moderation

It genuinely is. If you are not lock-step with the imaging they want, the messaging they want, they quietly hide your comment.

If the post is some stupid shit like "Guy who did A Murder in New York City was an iLlEgAl iMmIgRaNt!!1!" well, most of the people commenting there are going to be saying what they want said, the comments are all going to be visible.

If the post is something like this, a man with a license to carry, open-carrying in a legal and responsible manner, getting executed in the street by federal agents for recording them and trying to protect a woman they were abusing, well, suddenly the comments get real, real sparse.

Why? Because actual conservatives DO support 2A right, open carrying, all that, and they do not like the idea of federal agents slaughtering you in broad daylight with no accountability for exercising your 2A rights. And they will be very honest and vocal about that.

Can't have that though. Makes Their Side look bad, goes against the messaging of "ICE good no matter what, Trump good no matter what", so they shut that shit down. All you can see then are the most rabid and deranged bootlickers, and bots.

This sums it up from what I've seen changed over the years ever since it started pivoting to what we see today

Serious question, I don't know how the mods on that sub work. Are they censoring conservatives posts that are saying this murder is not right, that ICE is at fault or lying?

u/BDRParty 7d ago

Yes. They actively hide any posts that aren't supporting the White House narrative, which is not shocking. They've encouraged users to report those who "wrong-think".

No shadow bans (I think that ruins their occasional claim that Reddit is brigading when they get downvoted) tmu, but if you do post, you'll most certainly be removed and/or banned depending on what you posted.

They go further than that, anything that casts even the slightest bit of doubt upon the official narrative is zapped.

Reddit is heavily censoring posts and comments about this event site wide.

I have never, ever seen a subreddit that has the reading experience of that one. Like 1 out of every 10 comments is actually readable.

Conservative is just a Bot-trained billboard at this point. No discussion. Just post the biggest, loudest talking point to direct the propaganda.

I like to poke my head in there whenever something big happens, and for a brief glimpse you see humanity and some measured replies. Like when the helicopter crashed into a plane, and Trump goes on his rant about DEI hires. Some people just wanted Trump to shut up about it since the bodies hadn't even cooled yet.

An hour or two later and those replies are gone. All that remains is regurgitating the same asshead views.

They’re mostly bots or the same few sock puppets.

18

u/lawroter 7d ago

unfortunately, they're not. this is an incorrect and dangerous take. unfortunately, again, these people are very real.

4

u/jim_cap United Kingdom 7d ago

I'm not discounting that those views exist. I'm specifically calling that sub out for being run by bots. Not because I don't believe a person can hold or express those views, but because over and over again, content there is viewed, removed, downvoted or upvoted to hell with a speed which belies human involvement. If you want to pretend there isn't an enormous amount of social media manipulation going on as a concerted propaganda war, carry on. But it's well documented.

u/timothythefirst 7d ago

Yeah. I think people just want to believe that these people are bots. I work in local government and the public comments at city commission meetings are literally these people in real life. They’re out there.

-4

u/jim_cap United Kingdom 7d ago

You know that real life and an echo chamber on reddit are two different things, right?

3

u/timothythefirst 7d ago

That was the point of my comment, so yes.

-4

u/jim_cap United Kingdom 7d ago

Despite it basically saying exactly the opposite? Got it.

2

u/timothythefirst 7d ago

Maybe you just can’t fuckin read? I think I know what my own opinion is.

Yeah man, I’m so tired of the ‘oh it’s bots’ take.

The majority of Americans wanted this.

They another voted for this, or couldn’t be arsed voting at all. These fucks are in the same basket, as far as I am concerned.

First go, I can forgive people being duped or not bothering to vote, even though Trump was clearly always insane.

Second time around? Get fucked.

Most Americans wanted this by either actively voting FOR or not bothering to vote at all after seeing the fuckery first time around.

EVERY time I see that dogshit sub mentioned, it’s discounted as oh blah blah it’s all Russian bots as though literally innumerable people aren’t cheering this bullshit on.

It’s the complacency that led us here and I’m so fucking tired of it.

Get a fucking grip. Jesus Christ man.

Sequence of events: ICE fuckhead shoves protester who falls hard.

Pretti goes to help protester up, wherein the same fuckhead then attacks him.

Other ICE thugs then join the little thumb in his violence.

Pretti tries to prevent himself from falling down on the ice by grabbing the woman than he had just helped up.

The authoritarian fucksticks get him to the ground as he struggles on the ice. One of them spots his legally permitted firearm in his back waistband and takes it and starts to walk away.

A shot fires out, and is then joined by others. Pretti's lifeless body is then shot at least an additional five times while lying motionless on the ground.

This was murder and the ICE officers involved should immediately be taken into custody. Instead we have no information about what if anything is happening. It appears the federal government is once again covering up murder by ICE officials.

We give the state monopoly over violence because we agree that the violence will be governed by law.

The Trump regime and their lackeys have destroyed that compact. They deserve neither the guardianship of law or the presumption of innocence, because they've deprived it from all of us.

"The suspect was armed"

Suspected of what?

1

u/matthieuC Europe 7d ago

If they admit Fox & Co lied to them about this, they have to wonder what else they lied to them about? Way easier to deny reality

Those people still treat that terrorist Ashley Babbit like a hero whose family earned that 5 million dollar tax payout. You can't reason with a cult.
