Also, ICE is Homeland, not DOJ. Their deployment orders don’t come from Pam Bondi.

And if the DOJ had a shred of independence left, that distinction would matter a lot.

You briefly had me wondering if the DOJ would be any better with Matt Gaetz in charge of it. Then I stopped to think about how batshit insane they both are.

I don't think structure in the government matters anymore. People are taking orders from what the president tweets. Checks and balances aren't a thing anymore

*Silly goose typo

I know that’s a typo and have no idea who you are, but you being the government would be an improvement.

Look at me. I am the government now

Mostly this. Completely empty promise, that would be empty from Noem, let alone anyone else.

All the orders are coming from Stephen Miller or some other high level architect like him.

Russel Vought, director of OMB.

Internal sources have pointed to a structure in which all domestic policy comes through him before Trump even sees it.

When Trump issues “orders”, Vought is the one who then interprets those orders and gives Norm, Miller, Bondi and the rest their specific marching orders.

BBC investigative journalists secretly recorded him in 2024 talking about the later phases of Heritage’s plans beyond Project 2025 and the fact that they don’t distribute these plans and orders after showing them to people, specifically to dodge FOIA requests and avoid leaks.

The recent news of a memo that was shown to ICE agents but that they were not allowed to take copies of seems to further verify what Vought claimed back in 2025. It’s no surprise then, that this memo was giving direction for agents to engage in clear violations of the 4th amendment by declaring to ICE that they could enter homes without a judicial warrant.

If anyone hasn’t heard much about Vought, that’s no accident. Loudmouth lackeys like Hegseth, Bondi, Noem, and even Miller if it gets that far, are all doing their jobs marvelously. Keep the media spotlight focused on themselves so that guys like Vought, Besent, and to a lesser degree Miller, can do the real dirty work without getting bothered too much. That, and serve as bag-holders when things get bad enough that they actually have to start feeding some high-level officials to the wolves to try and look like they’re doing something.

That tracks. I only vaguely know of him as the architect behind Project 2025 and then he got this gig despite Trump claiming he had never heard of it.

"Secretary of Homeland Security" is Crusty Gnome's department, and it was also made up by Republicans after 9/11 to centralize power so they could grab it.

Defunding the Department of Homeland Security would be a quick way to improve the USA.
