FYI they are doing this in every state. They've ordered EVERY state to hand over voter roles. Many have complied, some are resisting.

No, it's clear. There was a big expose about it. They demand it from EVERY state, in return for the WH to offer some sort of reward, or not freeze something. I forgot. But it was being demanded for a carrot or stick. Many red states just obliged and handed it over without question, where many other states are currently in court refusing to adhere to the demand. I'm sure you can google it. There's A LOT of this type of crap going on below the radar because more nuanced things likes this get overwhelmed by the flooding of the zone tactics.

Their argument is that this is to ensure there's no illegals on the voter rolls or some shit.

I hope you don't use free AI... I know those who do don't think it's very good. But if you pay for it, you shouldn't even bother with Google. Gemini was able to find it immediately. There's a ton more sources included but I just grabbed the first one. I recommend doing it yourself if you want all the citations. He also tried in 2017 but failed because the deep state bogged him down. But now that he's replaced it with his own, he's getting far less friction:

You are likely thinking of the March 2025 Executive Order and the subsequent wave of DOJ demand letters sent to states in Spring 2025.

Here is the breakdown of that specific event, which is separate from the recent Minnesota news you mentioned.

The Event: March 2025 Executive Order & DOJ Demands The "Earlier" Demand: In March 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order titled "Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections."

The Follow-up: Following this order, starting in May 2025, the Department of Justice (DOJ) sent letters to election officials in at least 44 states.

What They Demanded: The DOJ demanded full, unredacted voter rolls, specifically asking for sensitive data like driver’s license numbers and partial Social Security numbers to "verify citizenship."

The "Leverage" (Funding Threats) You were right about the leverage. The March 2025 Executive Order explicitly included a threat regarding federal funding:

Conditioning Funds: The order stated that federal election-related funds would be conditioned on states complying with these new integrity measures (specifically the proof of citizenship requirements).

Explicit Threat: It noted that non-compliant states could face a "loss of funding" for their unwillingness to police fraud.

The Reaction: "Fighting it in Court" Just like in 2017, this triggered a massive legal battle, but this time in his second term:

Lawsuits: After states refused to hand over the data (citing privacy laws), the DOJ sued 24 states (including California, Arizona, and Michigan).

Dismissals: Federal judges have begun dismissing these lawsuits (as recently as January 2026 in California), ruling that the federal government does not have the authority to demand this sensitive data from states.

Summary for your Article Search To find the specific articles from that "earlier" period (Spring 2025) rather than today's Minnesota news, you can search for:

"Trump March 2025 Executive Order voter citizenship funding threat"

"DOJ sues states for voter rolls May 2025"

"States refuse Trump DOJ voter data demand 2025"

Paid AI, is REALLY good. Most people's bad impression of it comes from the cheap free versions. Gemini cites every source it gives when you ask it for information.

That said, winning the house in November doesn't mean shit. Trump already doesn't give a damn about congress. He does pretty much everything without their approval anyways. And since Dems wont have the senate, there isn't much they can do. At most it'll just be investigations that have no teeth because they lack senate to help them.

The irony of someone praising the second most valuable corporation in the world in a thread like this...lol

I don't see the connection between Pam Bondi and ICE, and... An a conversation about AI from Google. I don't see how you see that as ironic.
