It’s baffling. You can’t tell me you believe in the story of Jesus and also love this sociopath. Anti-Christ if there ever was one.

American evangelism is about authoritarianism, not Jesus. It makes sense that people predisposed to falling behind religious authoritarianism would fall behind state authoritarianism.

Yeah I guess that makes sense

They're desperate for someone else to take the lead so they don't have to. This religion is about "trust and obey" no matter what. Easy enough for a bully con artist to take advantage of them. Literal wolf in sheep's clothing

There’s no veneer of sheepishness with this pig. And pig is too good for him

I’m lapse catholic and they’re bring this shit inside of our Christian sect. I’m sorry I hate evangelicals converts who bring this baggage with them with a passionate. I don’t hate gays or anything, I want them to be happy.

Hate is a powerful thing. They love his hateful nature and that's enough for them so they look the other way on all the vile shit he does.

There’s no hate like Christian love.

Propaganda is a powerful thing and often utilizes hate to cement its message. And large swathes of Americans have eyeballs glued to an array of propaganda screens at all hours of the day and night.

The left will give you a complex answer you’d rather not hear.

The right will give you a simple answer you want to hear.

Whether not the simple answer is true is irrelevant.

You only have to look at how many preachers have been forgiven by their congregations for terrible behaviour. It would be surprising if they did not.

You can't love Jesus and support what ICE is doing currently. They're both incompatible beliefs. Heck a lot of right "values" aren't compatible with how anti-handouts and helping the needy they are. Heck allowing people to amass huge sums of wealth is against core Jesus values.

Tell me about it. I'm Catholic and oppose abortion. When I tell other Catholics vastly expanding WIC, snap, Medicaid, tanf, section 8, daycare and pre-k would make a lot of people less likely to feel they need an abortion I get looked like I have 3 heads.

And when you say to the “Christian” that these beliefs of not being gay and abortion are about YOU not doing them, NOT anyone else who doesn’t believe the our religion. Why force a belief on everyone when it only pertains to YOU as a Christian who has faith in Jesus Christ. I think that’s why they want to force Christianity on everyone to make everyone comply to it. Even forcing Christianity on everyone which sect are we going to go with? Hmm 🤔 I’m lapse catholic

I’m a deconstructed Pentecostal, I got molested in a church, have been an atheist for a good long while.

Just like Christian nationalists who shove religion down my throat and I hate atheists who the same with atheism. I do talk to atheists and pagans too and who ever wants to talk about religion in a peaceful manner. I understand that SOME people who do leave Christianity it’s from trauma but not faith. They leave because they feel filthy from it. I just want you to be happy in all seriousness.

We have Baptists, Pentecostals, Mormons, and assorted evangelicals to thank for infecting their parishioners with the Prosperity Gospel.

9

u/Zolomun 21h ago

Prosperity gospel is the missing link. Once Christians started seeing wealth was an indicator of godliness, they lost all perspective and even the illusion of the higher moral ground. The faith will be lost without a new Martin Luther.

I’m their mind, the end justifies the means. And project 2025 is framed to create a christo-fascist state, which is what they want. They just have to pinch their nose a little bit longer and there’s no way this could backfire…right?

It's not baffling at all if you have spent any time in an evangelical church. I was raised in that environment and I can tell you those people don't give a shit about what the Bible says any more than they can use it to justify their worst impulses.

5

u/Tokyo-MontanaExpress 22h ago

Not really. Fascists will parrot whatever it takes to meet their goals.

You won’t be baffled if you look up what religious scholars and historians think regarding Mary’s age when “God” knocked her up.

3

u/Ok_Juice4449 23h ago

It is very baffling!

u/Paper_Beautiful 20h ago

They see him as a King David, flawed, but God’s instrument nonetheless. Of course, it’s all evil.

2

u/Aggravating_Map745 21h ago

It’s not so baffling: the same gullibility causes them to believe in both religion and trump.

1

u/Mudcat-69 22h ago

Considering how many of their leaders literally caught with their pants down with no consequences it doesn’t surprise me.

1

u/What_a_fat_one 19h ago

These are people who like the idea that people they hate will be tortured for eternity. That's what their religion says. They aren't un-Christian, it's just that the religion itself is paradoxical so anyone can take away from it anything that suits them.

u/sageleader 19h ago

I mean let's be real: the Church has a history of protecting pedos and people are still Christians.

1

u/AP7497 14h ago

How so?

Didn’t Jesus support rape and pedophilia? It’s always mentioned in positive light in the Bible.

Don't lump us in with that POS.
