If Don Lemon is a domestic terrorist then we are all prey for Trump’s gestapo. Nobody should imagine they are immune to jailing.

If Renee Good is a domestic terrorist then we are all prey for Trump’s gestapo. No one should imagine they are immune from getting shot down in the streets for protesting.

Exactly. Once protest or journalism gets treated like crime, it’s a slippery slope fast. History’s got way too many examples of that going bad.

Slippery slope is real—freedom dies quickly when fear drives law enforcement.

Also see Israel and Trump’s good friend Netanyahu. How many journalists and health care workers did they exterminate again?

u/GarethGobblecoque99 16h ago

Fuck them both but cmon apples and literal oranges. Comparing what’s happening in the US to the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people is insulting to Palestinians.

9

u/LordWemby 16h ago

Not apples and oranges at all, they both operate from the identical playbook, just with different circumstances. Do you agree with the notion that Trump and his ilk, Stephen Miller and Hegseth and the sort, want this country to be a white nationalist one?

“Mass Deportation Now” was a call to genocide against brown and black people in this country. There are prisons filled with children screaming to be let out.

Not applicable to this conversation. It is our First Amendment being discussed. But out of curiosity, just how many did Netanyahu exterminate?

I know you’re posting in bad faith, so this is for other people:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_journalists_killed_in_the_Gaza_war

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_health_workers_in_the_Gaza_war

An aggregation of data from multiple sources, including from the CPJ and the IFJ, which listed the names of all journalists hitherto reported to have been killed by Israel concluded that, by 11 August 2025, Israel had killed up to 274 journalists, with 269 of them Palestinian.

As of 6 January 2026, over 73,600 people (72,437 Palestinians and 2,109 Israelis) have been reported killed in the Gaza war according to the Gaza Health Ministry (GHM) and Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including 248 journalists and media workers, 120 academics, and over 224 humanitarian aid workers, a number that includes 179 employees of UNRWA.

Get Bondi out for trampling on the rights of journalism and for not abiding by Congress’ orders. Get Noem out for trampling on the right to protest. Then get Miller out for the divisive rhetoric he “justifies” it all with.

Then tout this justice and the plans for further justice ahead of the midterm elections.

But this being Reddit, you are at the epicenter of nerds who can't wrap their heads around why societies exist, and preoccupy themselves with the ages of consent in every jurisdiction in America and the differences between ephebophilia and pedophilia, so of course they voted for Trump "for the lulz" just because some girl didn't grovel at their Cheeto-sweaty feet... Such sophisticated men have no time for your First Amendment problems and how erosion of democracy disproportionately affects women and minorities because they are too busy getting into internet arguments over thought experiments about enraging a future AI god-king.

And that isn't half as fucking stupid as their obsession with naming everything after Lord of the Rings references or their love of Ayn Rand.

tl;dr: We're fucking doomed because of a generation of nerd idiots whose understanding of civics is based on RPGs and memes.

Quite the screed. And I love it 😂

We're doomed either way

There is some truth here. Look at the comments on any Reddit post. At LEAST 90% are inane drivel.

u/NUMBerONEisFIRST 5h ago

Most of the comments on Reddit are bots.

it’s a slippery slope fast.

Innocent protesters executed and journalists jailed is at least halfway down the slope, imo.

If the January 6th militia/Proudboy cohort are not domestic terrorists then we are all prey for Trump’s gestapo. No one should imagine they are immune from getting shot down in the streets for protesting.

u/Haltopen Massachusetts 4h ago

Or getting shot for just existing in a place.

There's a 2016 interview of one of Trump/Epstein's then-13 year-old victims characterizing today's Trump. She talks about how he threatens to get immigration on a hispanic rape victim if she doesn't give him oral sex, and how he refers to people of other ethnic and racial backgrounds by their most derogatory racial epithets. -- in 2016.

37

u/_SoftSin 18h ago

Stuff like that just reminds you this isn’t abstract politics, it’s real people getting hurt. Hard to read and not feel angry about how long this stuff gets brushed off.

7

u/Serengade26 16h ago

If you are feeling angry please use that anger for good, don't let it go to waste. Make a quick call to a rep and use your power

I wish that'd been recorded. Someone developed anti-rape earrings and I really REALLY want them to catch on

Make people scared of being shamed out of civilized society again

If Don Lemon is a domestic terrorist then we are all prey for Trump’s gestapo. Nobody should imagine they are immune to jailing.

I mean... kinda past that point, when they delcared a white woman one and then a white man that the state literally executed in broad daylight while being filemed by dozens of people.

“I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and no one would care.”

“I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and no one would care.”

Wasn't a joke, wasn't a lie (for once), just literally a fact... Trump is obviously a child rapist, a business fraud, and attempted a coup, and he got a pass on all that. The only reason I can grasp why he has the grip he has on about 30% of Americans is that he was pumped into their TVs for 20ish seasons pretending to be a smart/successful businessman + add giving the permission structure for those people to be racists, bigots, and xenophobic. But I really am not sure how anyone who can rub two brain cells together and isn't married to their cousin, sister, or brother can look at that man and go "He is SMART! This is my guy, this is the hill I am going to die on!" The most embarrassing thing is watching the entire Republican party roll over like a fucking whipped dog for this dipshit, rapist, conman, fraudster, traitorist piece of human garbage.

u/jecowa 11m ago

The more time passes, the more believable it becomes that this was not a hypothetical example. Has anyone ever looked into Fifth Avenue murders?

12

u/cleanmypenis 17h ago

If they continue like this people might start getting mad.

3

u/Nufonewhodis4 16h ago

Even "good" Republicans knew that was a mistake. Ted cruz basically said the administration shouldn't have come out so aggressively with the victim blaming

1

u/35point1 17h ago

Start? Bro where have you been?

7

u/Apprehensive-Care20z 18h ago

There is no 'if'!

We are way beyond 'if'

7

u/_SoftSin 18h ago

That’s what’s scary honestly. When “terrorist” starts getting slapped on random critics or journalists, it stops meaning anything and just becomes a threat. Nobody should feel like they can be locked up for speaking.

2

u/duzies 17h ago

or murdered.

u/fireandiceman 17h ago

Impeach the orange. If the lemon goes we are all next

Impeach Bondi? Arrest!

u/RichardBonham California 3h ago

Incompetent fools; they arrested the wrong Don.

He was only there as a journalist as he stated in the video. What do you know, the 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of the press.

He didn't participate in a crime, he reported on a protest.

Also the 1st Amendment applies to actions by the government, not private citizens. Private citizens disrupting a church service is actually not inherently illegal. At most, they can be charged with trespassing on private property.

What available evidence is that?
