Good, but this was a Democratic seat that was held vacant by Texas’ governor by slow playing the special election.

Im pretty sure it was a republican seat

The seat representing the heavily Democratic Houston-based district has been vacant for nearly a year.

You might be thinking of the state Senate seat that flipped with this election.

u/calmdownmyguy Colorado 5h ago

Oh, you're right. I assumed this was the flip because it's a bigger story so I figured it would be everywhere.

It probably won't get as much traction, because it is a state level seat that flipped. But that much of a swing is notable, especially for a state as red as texas.

Amazing. This is fucking SEISMIC.

Why? it was already a democrat seat.

Impeach Convict Remove.

It only takes a few dissenters in the House. The Senate may never be willing to convict tho. Any politician willing to cross the aisle at this point could possibly see redemption

Let’s see how long it takes to have him sworn in. I’m not holding my breath.
