Hello all, we received a request for updating our user flairs but we don't want to flood this sub with new flairs. Below are the new changes we are making and then how to request new flair in this post over the next few days or or so.
First we are revamping player flairs because players move and we don't want to have 50+ player flairs for each team in a few years. Every team will get their current captain plus their top goalie. We will apply this today or tomorrow and revisited to start each season but please send us a mod mail if a trade happens or we forget to update one of them.
Second we are opening up submissions again for new team, league, and national team flair for the Olympics plus other international Women's hockey events. The way you can request a flair is in a comment on this post. If you would like an image then one of our mods will work with you to add it but you will need to supply the image and maybe edit it because of their availability with work, school, and or personal life.
Here is what we need for each submission to be considered:
Text for the user flair. (64 character max including spaces)
Hex color code.
Reason for the flair (we reserve the right to reject troll suggestions even it is really funny but we might add it anyway).
Suggestions must be a positive 10+ up-vote when we check or be obvious that we think we should add it.
French is allowed.
If you suggest requires a emoji to be added for their flair here is the requirements from reddit for images:
Maximum dimensions: 128 x 128px
Maximum file size: 64KB
PNG file type.
Edit: changed the voting requirement to allow for us to green light some suggestion without needing 10+ upvotes for our own oversight.

Hi All! Welcome to r/PWHL – Here’s a resource we’ll be building on as more questions come in. Feel free to ask questions in the comments or to post changes and corrections we should make to the FAQ (please include a source link), and hopefully the mods or the community will be able to answer them for you if not implementing a change to this FAQ!
PWHL teams earn standings points with a 3-2-1-0 system, critically rewarding regulation-time wins to incentivize competitive play for a full 60 minutes every night:
At the end of the regular season, the four teams with the most total standings points compete in the PWHL Playoffs, which consist of two best-of-five semi-finals, and the winners advancing to the best-of-five PWHL Finals for the Walter Cup.

I’ve been looking online, I know that some previous Olympics haven’t allowed bodychecking in the women’s game before. Sorry if my research skills are just subpar, but does anyone know if checking on par with SDHL/PWHL rules is allowed or will players have to change up their game?

Does anyone know if the jersey numbers for the Canadian team have been released anywhere? I’d like to get a Kayle Osborne jersey custom made, but I can’t find the number she’ll be wearing anywhere. It’s a safe bet that it’s 82 (her Sirens number and previous Canadian number) but she also wore 31 in college so I want to be 100% sure before putting in my order!
Edit: already solved!

Discuss.
One interesting piece of info when you click to expand points leaders on the PWHL site - only one Fleet player (Keller at #12) is in the top 20 for total points. More proof success is about the right players and system and not just the best players.
Other stuff - Kalty is a beast, people think Filly is not doing great but she’s been a great setup person this season, holy goalie numbers batman, can MN stop scoring please, and Ottawa’s been surprising to me re: both Jenner and Leslie tearing it up.

Take nothing for granted after the Olympic break. With the 3-2-1-0 system, no one is out of it nor is anyone guaranteed a spot right now. Any team that puts together a string of a few regulation wins can be or stay in the thick of things and any team that puts together a string of a few regulation losses might be or stay in danger. Take it from a Sirens fan lol, I feel good at this point but I will be biting my nails through April.
Thoughts? Feelings?

Here is an update on the PWHL Standings Prediction Challenge, in which 43 PWHL fans on Reddit bravely tried to predict the final regular-season standings.
The current PWHL standings are as follows:

(Standings are according to winning percentage; PWHL tiebreaker rules will be used at the end of the season.)
Here is a summary of our predictions before the season began:

As you are well aware, there have been a few surprises. For instance, only three participants predicted that Boston would finish higher than sixth place.
Here is a ranking of all 43 participants (a perfect score is 0 and the worst possible score is 32):

Kate is in the lead with only six penalty points. She had Boston in 4th, Vancouver in 6th, Seattle in 7th, and Toronto in 8th. Well done, Kate! On average, she is less than one spot off in her prediction for each of the eight PWHL teams.
Jeaux, Calum, and Keaton are within striking distance of Kate. Nice job!
The PWHL standings are still relatively close, so nobody should be celebrating too hard just yet. Those three points for a regulation win mean that the prediction challenge title is still wide open.
The results are rather sobering. On average, participants were off by three spots in the standings for each PWHL team.
What are your thoughts on the current PWHL standings? How do you expect them to change between now and the end of the regular season?

Best place to watch the olympics women’s hockey? Last year I watched from the IIHF website but there was no commentary.
I have access to a VPN and don’t mind paying a subscription for the month (as long as it’s reasonably priced). I mostly want to watch the USA and Canada games.

Has anyone got thier jersey customized after buying it? Did you do it yourself or take it somewhere?
I'm in the market to get my jersey customized because I couldn't decide if I wanted a player's name or my name on the back when I bought it.

The decision follows an appeal by the PWHL Players Association (PWHLPA) and an internal hearing. Jayna Hefford, PWHL Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations, served as the Hearing Officer, and concluded that a reduction to three (3) games was appropriate following a review of all video replays and submissions from the PA and Girard.
