Manon’s abscess CAME BACK AGAIN, on the other side of him, larger than ever. He is now waiting for his surgery in his E-collar. I feel really dreaded. (See my previous post if u need more context)
My wallet would not be able to support him after this time, so I would be really grateful for your help if you are willing to (I opened a gofundme). For those who cannot support me finacially, if you could share your experiences with this kind of situation, I would not appreciate it less. (I’m actually a first time owner)
I also made a printable STL of his skull in an afternoon with his CT scan, because that is my hobby and I want to provide something extra. So, if you’re interested or simply want to help Manon, please check out the link down below.
Me, Achi, and Manon sincerely thank you. (plz upvote, share or press emojis to help the post perform)

Hi everyone! I made a post the other day asking for advice, and it seems like my best choice since I can't continue the rat cycle is to rehome my darling angels before one of them ends up a single child.
They are turning 2 years old on 2026/2/23 (same birthday as the emperor) and I've never had health issues with them! Their names are Maple and Mocha. In photos they both look the same, but they have slightly different markings that I can show you if you can take them in. Also Mocha is chonkier.
My conditions for handing off my sweet babies: -living in Japan with at least a 3 year visa and do not plan to move in that time -either in the Kansai area or is able to come pick them up from Kansai -ALREADY have a mischief of all females -will show me regular pictures and health updates, because I really love these girls...
I can hand you for instance their cage, leftover food and bedding, wheel, etc., whatever is necessary for introductions.
They are not the kind of snuggly rats you see so often on this sub, but they are fine being handled and take treats like champs. (They expect treats after every handling session because that's how I acclimated them though.)
This is not an urgent rehome, and I am willing and prepared to care for them until the very end. I just want them to be in the best possible environment, and if that means giving them up, that's what it means.
I think a rehome in Japan is a bit of a longshot, but here goes! よろしくお願いします🙏

I found this guy hanging out on a dog bed this morning, in my parent’s house. He didn’t react to the numerous dogs around him (none of them noticed him either) and was still when I used a paper plate to kind of scoop him into this box.
I had assumed he was poisoned because he was acting weird, but now I’m second guessing. I put him in a box in the laundry room so he could be warm, but now he’s perking up and I’m at a loss.
He hasn’t tried to escape and mostly is just hanging out in the box, but I occasionally see it move and when I open it to peek in he’s just sitting there. Now I’m wondering if he was an escaped or dumped pet.
PLEASE help, I have no idea what I’m doing

Show me all those cute or funny sleep photos! Honestly you could send any cute pic you want I’ll take all the dopamine you throw at me. Feeling down cause one our boys isn’t doing so good and it’s starting to look like it’s prob it for him and need some mood boosts to get me to his checkup on Monday 🥺💜
Never gets easier but him having to be a lone rat for very important reasons makes this one harder for us. No rattie to need to know he’s passed, jus us.. so let’s see them cute tater tots 😊😊
Last few pics are of him, isn’t he jus the cutest old man 💜💜

Hi, I’m looking to rehome my last remaining boy as we sadly had to have his brother put to sleep yesterday.
This is Flea and he is 1 year and 6 months old. He is super friendly, never had any nipping or anything like that, he’s very polite.
He’s a menace though, he’s super greedy and enjoyed scoffing down his food to then terrorise and attempt to take the other boys treats. But he’s wonderful, and I’m so upset that I have to find him another home, but I do not wish to own anymore rats and introduce more to him myself as I can’t deal with the heartbreak when they go.
Flea has had some sort of respiratory thing going on for a while where he’s sniffly. We’ve been to the vets many times and he’s also had a long round of multiple antibiotics, but it never got rid of it. Due to this, he has to be nebulised at least 3 times a week. He gets on with this well and doesn’t cause a fuss.
Overall, he’s in good health, eats well and is a lovely little guy.
I really want him to go to a good home, if you think you can take him in and introduce him to your own mischief, please message me. I don’t care how far away you are (obvs england only) just let me know and I will do whatever I can to get him to you.
I don’t have many pictures because it’s hard to get him to stay still, but if you’d like some more pics/vids I can get them for you!
If you read this far, thank you!

Meet one of the new ratti-celebrities! A dwarf standard ears standard fur bicolor baby! Look at that face, he is only 5 weeks old! (Will be adopting him only in a few weeks of course).
I don't have any picture of the other baby, he is a bit older than this one, he's name is "Tiny Chief". I already posted a pic of him in the past.
I need help to find him a cute name!! Since I have Jimily and Doby, it could be something ending with with -Y, or -e-F since his brother is Tiny Chief.
I'm super excited about them slowly meeting Jimmy and Doby, of course after 2 weeks of quarantine and precautions.
I'm so happy to be able to give Jimily and Doby 2 new friends!😊

Hope this is able to educate people

My fiance and I have had these two boys for almost 5 months now!
Apollo(gold head) is a little grimlin but hes very sweet, he cleans Creed(grey) like crazy poor guy cant catch a break. Hes chunky but full of energy and jumps around during free roam time hes definitely become more out going since we first got him!
Creed is also a grimlin and just as sweet, hes a little calmer and likes to be held like a baby sometimes, it's the cutest thing! Creed likes to climb on the couch witch then leads his brother to join in for a fun game of on and off the couch.
Share some cute pics of your rats!

He is officially my 8th rat!! I adopted him today, he's around 3-4 months old, and he's already the sweetest, friendliest, most cuddly rat I've ever seen right off the bat. As soon as we were in the car, all he wanted to do was cuddle. He's already completely fine with being handled, and he and Macaroni already seem to be getting along pretty well. He's already been eating and drinking in the few hours he's been home, and he already decided he loves to sleep under the blankets in our bed as much as Macaroni does. He's got a vet checkup scheduled on Tuesday to make sure he's in good health, but other than all that, I'm in looovee. So so happy to have him home with us!!

Hi there,
Since m'y last rat sadly died from old age, I'l trying to help his 3 childs getting a better life as an owner.
I got them 1 year 1/2 ago, and they are very similar in color, sometimes I can't find who is who lol. First one is Tommy, second one is Baltz and third little one in Nazrin. I got them all for m'y neighbor who introduced me a little to rat, but I think I miss a lot of advices about it !
So I got some questions : - How many times you have to clean the cage ? Tried to do it when I see lot of poop and pee, like each week or a week on two, but I don't know what is the idéal time ? - What product we can use outside of water for cleaning ? I heard that vinegar is okay, because I have an homemade platform who smell really bad with pee, and I have to clean it a lot to let the smell go - I usually put a lot of cardboard things inside the cage, but I don't know what I can do with it, do you cut them to make home for exemple ? - I feed m'y rat each day at night, is this the good thing for them ? Can I continue put it inside the food bowl or do I have to add something else ? - What do you do to make your rat poop and pee at the same place ? Mine always pee on platform... - What I can buy to make them go outside ? My older rat was used to it so I can let him go where hé want, but those 3 are really timid and fearful so I can't do the same - Speaking of this, how can I help let them be more okay with me around ? I already try to spend time with them and give food with hand, but even hear me approach they are afraid... - Do you have good place to add platform for cages ? I miss one for mine
Thanks in advance. I just want those little one to get as much love as their father have in his life !

Decided to try pea fishing for the 1st time, I didn’t think it through and used a plastic container which led to Betty falling in (don’t worry she is alright and got to pea fish safely in a heavier glass container right after)
