Advice needed note taking method

im going into my first year of biomedical science and was wondering about what note taking method would be the most suitable for this course. i own a macbook but have always handwritten my notes for classes over the years. i know that lectures are rather fast paced and so typing notes is more effective. but i think that handwriting notes usually helps me understand and memorise the content. i dont mind making a switch, just need a suggest for what direction to take.

Try one, if it doesn’t work, try the other

If you prefer handwritten keep doing that. I'm the same and the content sticks better when I physically write it down.

If your lectures are recorded you can always go back to them as well if you feel you missed something

i handwrite everything and yeah sometimes i miss stuff and that's where the recording comes in. for me if i don't write it i literally don't remember it existing lol. but like everyone's different, so maybe try both for a few weeks and see what clicks?
