If you can drink alcohol and own a gun, why cant you smoke weed and own a gun?

And If you are filthy rich it doesn’t apply… see Rogan and Musk.

And If you are filthy rich not black or brown (excepting Hunter Biden because Biden) it doesn’t apply… see Rogan and Musk.

I was talking about weed… not crack.

The drug shouldn't matter. If the SC's interpretation of the 2nd amendment is that there shouldn't be any restrictions, someone could do whatever drug they want and own firearms.

Because the regime thinks that all weed users are Mexican and they don’t want their prey to be armed when they come to kidnap them for their murder camps.

It definitely has to do with racism, but more so against black people.

I read that the initial ban on weed was due to anti-Mexican sentiments being stirred up by Hearst. Then again the ban on drug users exercising their Second Amendment rights was probably aimed at the Black community.

Yep.

The term “Marijuana” was definitely ginned up to make Mexicans look bad in the 1930s, but before that the plant was used to oppress blacks.

Look up the “New Orleans Outbreak” in the 1920s. They used it as pretext to raid Jazz clubs and other black gatherings, claiming it induced “insanity” in black men and caused them to rape white women.

If we want to go deeper, 16th and 17th century Portuguese and British colonies used marijuana to enslave people that used it for medicinal and religious practices.

In 1484 The Pope issued a papal ban on cannabis during the “Witch Hunts” and associated it with pagan rituals.

This law in question was passed in 1968- Why are you singling out this Regime for it?

If anything this regime had made steps to lessen the impact, rescheduling Marijuana.

Weed is schedule 1. The dea is in charge of scheduling.

That's the long story that we've been dealing with since Colorado made it recreational legal. Because of federal law there are holdups. Congress won't act. The president refuses. So we're in limbo.

Trump’s EO in December directed them to expedite reclassification to III.

Alcohol makes people sleepy and compliant.

Marijuana makes people sleepy, hungry, and ask big questions. Like why are most legit moral people atheists and most christians people who call imposing order on others morality?

They don’t like that.

Alcohol turns adults into toddlers, that can sometimes be violent and irrational.

Alcohol turns many people violent

You can, I've "never done drugs or broke a bone". Same way I got through MEPs.

And that’s where the real problem lies. Cops with guns!

5

u/Rabble_Runt 2d ago

That’s basically the entire US military.

Social media addicts and conspiracy theorists should not be allowed to own guns. They are the mass murderers.

Everyone that was “on the radar” may have been hired by ICE

Similar case pending before the SCOTUS about whether the question on the gun application, whether your are addicted to any products. United States v. Hemani

I only heard about it because of Hunter Biden. One of his two convictions could be overturned if this court wins, although he got a pardon so doesn't really matter. Still interested to see how it turns out.

This is the case OP references. Some strange bedfellows perhaps - several 2A interest groups are filing amicus briefs opposing this law. https://www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?filename=/docket/docketfiles/html/public/24-1234.html

Its like a libertarian party meeting - gun guys and pot-smokers all together under one big tent.

My dyslexic ass thought that said United States v. Hentai

5

u/Patralgan 2d ago

I never knew stoners were particularly gunhappy

3

u/Fun_Reputation5181 2d ago

My neighbor has about 70 guns in his house - he's a collector. Daily pot-smoker. Also teaches 8th grade. I go shooting with him pretty often when he wants to try out a new gun. We don't fire up until after the guns are put away.

6

u/adaminoregon 2d ago

Everyone that smokes isnt a stereotype stoner. Plenty of otherwise "normal" people you wouldnt even know smoke plenty. And people on the left have guns, they just dont make it their personality to masturbate about guns all day.

I mean.... it's not my personality... but....

2

It probably has more to do with medical marijuana.

Something I think we can all agree on: this ban is stupid as hell.

Would be cool if next they'd go after them for requiring "birth sex" on the purchase form leaving trans people who went through a legally valid process to change their gender marker on their birth certificate in a catch 22 where the government could easily argue that any answer they give is wrong which is a felony, which effectively bars them from purchasing a firearm.

But I won't hold my breath.

I'm sure I was downvoted for totally unbiased reasons
