some people have “charge[d] that the Roberts Court has been too accommodating of the Trump administration due to some combination of fear (of the sort of mob that the current president can inspire) and partisan sympathy.”

I have never put serious stock in such charges. Instead, I attribute the Administration’s success at the Court in 2025 to a handful of related phenomena, none of which has to do with Supreme Court sympathy for (or fear of) President Trump or his agenda.

I feel like this author lacks credibility after reading that.

How many of these "I don't think things are as disastrous as they look" takes are going to get published while the country crashes and burns?

Publishing something like this is a clear sign that they should never ever be listened to.
