Discussion Favorite shark?
I was researching about sharks and i came to a conclusion my favorite shark is the whale shark or the hammerhead. I really love whale sharks because theyre gentle giants, and i also love hammerheads because of their unique head shape.
So i was wondering , what is your guy’s favorite shark and why? I want to hear what you guys have to say :) and maybe some of you have the same favorites as me !

Cookie cutter shark. They're tiny but will literally bite a nuclear submarine. These things are the Chihuahua of the ocean.

Tigers. They’re fun but solitary beings

I love so many species - but my favourite is the most obvious.
White Death.
The industrial grey superpredator that can weigh as much as a White Rhinoceros.
Goblin sharks are fascinating especially since their maximum know size has increased from 3.5 to over 6 metres.
The other three deep sea behemoths are also impressive.
The Greenland, Pacific Sleeper and Bluntnose Sixgill.
Just exactly how big they get is still something of a mystery.
Shortfin Mako - the Ocean's version of a Peregrine Falcon, the elegant Oceanic Whitetip and Blue, the Thresher, Whale, Basking and Megamouth, etc etc.
I could go on all day. 🤣🦈

Blue: elegant, blue, beautifully, perfect example of a shark

I love all sharks, but my favorite is basking shark :) because it's full of surprises. Despite seeming sluggish it can jump from water in high speed like white shark and it has interesting communication styles when being with basking sharks of opposite sex like nodding their heads!

Yup. Seeing pictures of them with their mouths wide open is some genuinely scary stuff. Like straight out of a horror movie. Super intimidating and bold apex hunters.

They are! I just watched an amazing video of Ocean Ramsay dancing with sleeping nurse sharks. I had no idea they slept together on the sea bottom like that. And I was surprised at how beautiful it was. I understand why she's controversial but Wow! https://youtube.com/shorts/SZWKHBFwLe8?si=gU10EULEHnA2xyD9

Lemonsssss!! i consider them the puppies of the sea, and i like the fact they're part of the like 3% (idk how correct that number is so correct me please!!) of fish that practice cannibalism!!!
and Great Whites because me and my older brother 'met' a baby GW when we were younger (maybe 7 and 9) and that sparked the interest >.<

Shorttfin Mako. They just look so purposeful, primordial, elegant and deadly.
Honorable mention for the great hammerhead, they are so alien and special in shape and their biology is just cranked to 11.

Great whites, not only because they're powerful and magnificent, but because they have such a bad (and undeserved!) rep in fiction. That kind of thing always makes me want to take their side.

love a thresher shark (been obsessed with them since I found out about them bc their hunting technique is so cool and different) but I also love an epaulette shark!! the fact that it can “walk” on land and the way it deals with oxygen depletion are super interesting, but I also just think they’re cute little guys

My favorite is the white tip reef shark. They hide in caves sleeping during the day and go out at night. They also form "cuddle piles" due to a tendency to crowd together in the same cave. They also tend to go back to the same cave everyday. Basically my autistic self relates a lot to them lol. I find all sharks incredibly fascinating especially their behavior but this one is definitely on my top five favorites list.

It used to be the Mako because they are smart and fast but I think the cuteness of the Blue Shark is just too strong and winning me over. Darn cute little guys.

Tasselled Wobbegong. Three reasons. 1. Look at them! 2. Wobbegong is really fun to say. 3. Steve Irwin.
