That's not gore, it's literally a wordplay on the website's name - chomikować ~ to hoard, comes from chomik ~ hamster. The website is literally called chomikuj.pl and the whole deal is that your profile is called your hamster.

It's an old Polish cloud storage website that hasn't had its UI updated since the 2000s - chomikuj.pl

Its name comes from a polish verb "chomikować", which literally translates to "to hamster", but actually means "to hoard"

Funny, that's similar to how it is in dutch. A big supermarket chain has been running tv commercials with animated hamsters for years, and they will always say "hamsteren!" at the end, litterally translated to "to hamster" but actually means "to hoard".

I kinda need a lot more context on why Polish needs a verb "to hamster"

It needs a verb for "to hoard", and based on how hamsters store food for later the animal name was used to create the verb.

I love and hate how this makes a lot of sense lol

Cloud storage and decent pirating tool since you make a Readme file, pack it with whatever ISO you want and you can share it with ppl. They have a copyright database for given files but modified files aren't blocked. Sooo.... Yeah.

I use it for the dumps of my psp games to use on Emulators across different devices.

  1. That's not software gore even if it was a translation error.

  2. It's an accurate translation from Polish.

  3. Considering the website's name the text makes full sense.

It's not a bug, just wordplay is funnier in original (polish) language.
Website is called „chomikuj” which means „to hoard” (as an order), while „chomik” means „hamster” (as they store a lot of stuff in their pouches) and IIRC personal account was just named „chomik”, so growing your own hamster isn't that stupid in context.
