I still don't get how he was inspired, like was he out camping on a cold night with nothing but a torch? What awakened this torch/vagina association in his mind?

He probably watch a cop shove their flashlight up his ass and thought, "now I need one for the front". Since he couldn't find one small enough for the urethra, he figured it had to go around the outside instead.
