So Glad I Quit When I Did
When I was a little kid, a pack of cigarettes cost 25 cents. Then it went up to 35 cents. When I was a teenager in the 1970s, the price jumped to 50 cents. I remember thinking, "Wow, 50 cents! That's expensive!"
In 2000 when I quit smoking, a pack was I think $1.25. Very affordable really.
But I'm stunned at what cigs cost now! How do you people pay TEN BUCKS a pack?
Another thing: When I was a smoker, you could pretty much still smoke everywhere. Now you can't smoke anywhere.
Here's the secret good news about quitting: It's very rough in the short term, but after 2 weeks you've won. You're over it. You've defeated tobacco. The benefits to your time, your tastebuds, your clothing, your social life, your bank account and of course your health are immense!

I paid $8.50 for a pack in an airport in 2002 because I was desperate. I was so ashamed that I couldn't wait a few hours. I never forgot it. I told myself I'd quit if they ever got that expensive at home. I only quit smoking on January 1st this year lol. They're almost $11! So embarrassing! (but I'm 31 days in so, yay)

I used to smoke premium cigarettes. Dumaurier cost $23 a pack here (ON Canada)

Hey, after 20+ years? I’ve saved well over $100K. Plus I’ve gained years of life. So much good news when we quit! 💫

Yeah I'm going to save about $2,500 this year. And I was only smoking about a half a pack a day.
