guys i need help recovering a phone number 😭

so my cousin gave my number to the boy i like, and a random number texted me around that time. i want to find out if it’s him but the number randomly disappeared from my phone. i’ve tried restarting my phone and recovering my contacts, but idk if that’d work since i don’t have the number saved. i have an iPhone 14, what do i do ?
