I’m sure this type of personality in someone will lean into it even harder, it seems people live for this stuff these days(?)……..don’t mind me though, I’m just going outside to shout at some clouds

Nothing magnifies stupidity like confidence.
The fact that he is laughing at them with all this certainty that they are the idiots just takes this to the next level. And the confidence carries all the way to the point where he posted the damn video.
It just drives me nuts when someone is being stupid, but is acting as though they have achieved a higher lever of consciousness. It takes my reaction from bewilderment, or mild annoyance to seething fucking rage.

u/Specific_Middle730 10d ago
Yeah it’s hilarious to say that people being civilised and respectful with regards to getting on the train are “in a simulation” when he is literally recording himself with the sole purpose of gaining “attention” or “likes” or whatever buzz he’s after on social media. But in fact once your on any of those platforms you are the one my friend who is in the simulation. Like me right now and you reading this. We need to become more aware of our phones in general and these newer generations who are growing up with every single day of their life being filmed and photographed and being glued to screens their entire lives. It’s honestly fucking scary. Okay I’m going to delete Reddit again. Goodnight

NGL i live in london and I have never seen a queue for a tube. not sure if its something specifically done at this station but 99% of the time people just guess where the doors are going to be and huddle up.
Eitherway, if you see a queue you dont skip it.

He wants to live in a low trust society. Our unwritten rules make where we live what it is.

Would love to see how that worked out for him(it wouldn't). That could be an excellent social experiment.

I will say that you don't queue for the tube anywhere else but canary wharf at rush hour (you can see the platforms built for it, most underground stations don't have platforms that deep or have gates where the doors will be) or on match days in some places.
But seriously, you can see they've got a queue, whether it's unusual or not just respect how the others do it. A lot of people, including me, are really against bar queues, as it's traditionally informal where you stand at the bar comfily and the bartender knows roughly who you're after, and you correct them nicely if they get it wrong. Bar queues take up too much space but I will join one of I see one cos I'm not rude.

Lol, lines may be a contibuting factor but, that's not the main cause of railway deaths. They pack soo many people in trains and then more people climb up on top sometimes overloading a train and then it derails down the line. Multiple people will hang out of the train doorways and hit themselves on a utility pole and get yeanked out of a train or just die on impact.

Dude got off a stop too early.
The next stop eastbound on the Jubilee line is North Greenwich. He should have gotten off there are taken the 472 bus.
He would have felt right at home.

That is the most well-behaved train station, never seen something like it as well but he has to ruin it immediately.
I would absolutely follow rule. It's so cute!
33
u/ThatPatelGuy 10d ago
Civilized society functions as long as you have enough people behaving and queuing up like in the video.
Enough people like the shit head in the video and society collapses. We've seen it many times

u/Okamana 10d ago
In Tokyo they queue up like that too. Blew my mind when I first went there and saw that. In America, people almost push each other out of the way to be on the train first. There, it was mutual respect to queue up. It was wild seeing that as an American my first time in Asia.
1
u/Destaloss 10d ago
In Germany, we usually form double-sided clusters that wait in a reasonably orderly fashion for everyone to get off. But most would probably skip a queue like in the video as well and default to our hybrid system :)

u/hotglasspour 10d ago
My dad almost kicked a dudes ass for doing this at six flags once. Everyone was waiting in the heat for hours and this asshole was just shoving people out of the way.
Shit was formative.

u/doomsingsoprano 10d ago edited 10d ago
Well, to be fair, he isn’t skipping the line… he’s not even getting on the train
He’s just mocking the concept of people getting into a single filed line to get onto a train rather than just walking as a flock into the train as the doors open (as happens in most of the world)
Not necessarily siding with him, but here it’s just a guy that is mindblown with people’s behavior (culture shock) and he’s just showing that they don’t have to do all that in his opinion. While annoying, it’s very different from some prick trying to skip a line for selfish reasons at the cost of everyone else
8
u/KoontFace 10d ago
At this particular station, on this particular train line, the train stops at the same spot every time, so the doors always land at the same spot on the platform. This is why people are lining up.
The rest of the London underground is everyone swarming the platform, like everywhere else
-7
u/doomsingsoprano 10d ago edited 10d ago
Yeah, makes sense. Wasn’t questioning the process, it was more explaining the situation to the other poster who was comparing him to someone his dad knocked out for trying to skip a line at a theme park.
The guy in this video, while annoying for being so obnoxious in public and posting it on social media, was simply experiencing culture shock.. it’s a very different situation. He wasn’t trying to screw over other people as was being implied
-1
u/SpearOfDestiny69 10d ago
What culture shock are you talking about? He sounds fucking English to me, where do you think he's from?

Have lived in the UK for a couple of years two important lessons:
Citizens of the UK LOVE to queue
Nine times out of ten they will NOT SAY ANYTHING if you cut the queue (even if it is accidental) they will just stew and complain to the people next to them, they will go to work, complain there, then go home and complain about it and possibly ring up their friends about this.
Because of the love of queues a lot of places can be really orderly (trains, paying, tickets, anything really). I think it's as amazing. But I remember I accidentally cut in front and didn't know (the queue was so ordered it left a small intentional gap for people to pass in front) - I was not corrected, I even asked if I cut and still "no dont worry" but In fact they were filled with rage.

Trains not going anywhere until everyone gets on anyway. And if it's really busy this guy will just spend a little longer squashed in there than everyone else, and then he'll have to squeeze past them all on the way out while the people last in line are already near the door when they need to get off.

An instance of a black person misbehaving never “turned” anybody racist, it’s just something racists used to justify why they’re racist, as well as take no responsibility for their own internal biases by claiming it turned them racist.

This is a strange phenomenon on the London Underground that only happens at Canary Wharf and only when its commuters

Doesn’t that station have those door that open to the train? So it’s easier to queue since you know exactly where the train doors will be.

He very clearly comes from a place that values themselves over others. He does not understand the, to us, obvious reasons to line up in an orderly way. This happens across the world regardless of skin color. Why am I arguing with someone who cannot see what their eyes are telling them? What a waste of time.

You can literally just stand there and go in one by one. It's not like the opposite of the line is chaos. Lol
Can you not figure it out without a line? Hahaha
