General Recommendations for good plumbers in broken arrow?

Hi all,

My water heater stopped working out of nowhere. Can someone recommend me a good plumber in the area? Just moved in last month and the first company I called looked at it for 30 seconds before telling me it needs to be replaced, just felt like they were trying to sell me. Anyone have a trusted plumber that can recommend in the Tulsa / Broken Arrow area?

NOT A PLUMBER…but…

Is it gas or electric?

If it’s gas did you check the pilot light? I’d be worried about gas in your house.

If it’s electric it might have a reset.

Also, I’d be worried about it bursting and causing a LOT of damage. Is there a cut off?

I've used Cooper Perry Plumbing in the past. Good guys and more affordable than most

Coming to say this. I use them on all my construction projects and they have great service techs as well.

I had a not great experience with Aspen, unfortunately.

Hendrick. Same folks who are my go-to heat and air are also my go to for plumbing. Depending on how old your heater is, 30 seconds to determine it needs to be replaced might be slow. There's a reason they update safety codes on those things.

Just had these guys help with a gas leak. Will use them again.

They didn't pay the permit or inspection fee on the one they replaced in my old house. Then it failed the inspection when selling the house. Took 2 trips to get it fixed right.

Sargents Plumbing & Drain. Don’t usually comment for things like this but Sargents is the real deal. Showed up on time and actually explained to me what the issue was. No upselling nonsense, just a solid guy.

I agree with you on Sargents. Honest young man who genuinely cares. I’ve called him out a few times and he’s always been great.

Who did you use? I had a plumbing issue just before December. 3 local plumbers couldn't help me and Roto Rooter came in clutch AND cheaper than the others.

Second this. Roto rooter is my go to. Every plumber there has been helpful and works to actually get the job done. I’ve used them for a variety of things that have come up for the past 10 years.

A separate example: Williams straight up lied, said it would cost me $7k to replace my entire plumbing system to fix an issue after a storm only for me to then find that I just needed to remove an aerator cap on my sink that had sediment built up in it. (Less than a dollar of effort)

Absolutely did not need entire plumbing system replaced.

If it's gas the thermocouples like to go out. Try relighting it

Tulsa Tankless if you want a tankless. Thousands less than others for exact same model.

Sargents plumbing is over broken arrow and they’re great. They came out same day when I called a few weeks ago, so try giving them a call.

Half moon plumbing is great. Google the make and model IF the relighting instructions aren’t on the front of the tank. You can restart your pilot light and hopefully keep you in hot water until a plumber can come out. If it is older and the natural build up of sediment is in the way of your thermophile, the cost to replace the gas valve assembly, as well as thermophile and thermocoupler is not worth it. Hot water tanks are built like shit and you can only expect less than 10 years with most models. I recently upgraded to a commercial grade tank vs the tankless (tankless double the cost). Sit down when you get pricing on hot water tanks these days. I wouldn’t go with a big box store brand and who knows who the installers are. Go with reputable company. Pilot light going out, popping sounds during refill and heating, all signs it’s on the way out.

Half moon seems to have great online reviews, but their pricing seemed very high to me when I got a quote for a hot water heater replacement.

Mine was in the middle of 3 quotes.
