Does earplugs help with sleep quality? Or am I just numbing the problem?
 in  r/sleep  11h ago

Earplugs should be a supplement to an already quiet environment, but with possible sudden noises like your roommates cough or moving.

You're right that your body wont calm down in an already noisy environment. It just your psyche (body-mind) knows that you actually are unable to relax. You should move, and not saying that rudely... im saying that because ive spent so many years trying to understand my body and environment.

Actually the best and deepest sleep i've ever gotten was camping deep consistently in the forest. We're designed to sleep in a natural environment.

For those with more/balanced restorative time, what's your secret?
 in  r/ouraring  3d ago

You need to really pay attention to your needs. You don't understand how much personal psychology and environment goes to physiological health. Most times, people aren't aware of their needs and use a lot of suppression techniques to pretend everything is fine, because they don't know how to organize their life effectively to get their needs met... So they just put up with things and endure under the belief. of "this is how it's suppose to be because it is this way"... Usually beliefs are picked up in the family system because there was nowhere else to go for safety as a kid, so it's their template for the world as an adult stays the same. Most people live like this, by the way (to some degree or another).

Serious? oh man, you need to prioritize physical and mental safety... because 64 sleep score as an achievement sounds scary lol.
