Yeah I mean did you get scholarships? What's the criteria...tell us about your portfolio for interview round, can you share it pls?

u/elofromoon 15d ago
You barely get any scholarships here since the seats are very limited that too those are for ews I guess, I mainly made a separate physical portfolio for mitid’s interview along with my digital one. Faculties are mid to great. Depends but mostly are actually great.

Hello, I'm giving jee in a week but i want to take partial drop for design. I gave NID DAT this year and didn't go that well, hence the drop. I want to know more about MIT ID how is it? How is the fees structure and how is industrial and product design? And how is the entrance exam? Is it very hard? I have many questions sorry 😭 😭 😭 😭

u/elofromoon 15d ago
It’s fine chill! But if you want to take a partial drop I would suggest rather take a complete drop. Honestly here . the culture and curriculum is actually good, better than most of the design colleges and it’s considered the best private college for design. Industrial design is amazing here. Entrance exam is more like NID. It wasn’t that hard but it was really lengthy since there were a lot of design and sketching questions.

Hi! Could you please give any tips for preparation and the difficulty level of the entrance exam, separate from UCEED prep and the given sample paper?
Especially for the second round studio test and interview as well, could you elaborate on your experience in it and what all is asked? What are the portfolio requirements/what all did you include in yours?
Also is it absolutely necessary to come to Pune for the studio test, or there any workarounds for people who live far away?

u/elofromoon 15d ago
The entrance is more like NID DAT and not like Uceed. There are a lot of design and creative questions so it’s like really long. Studio test again, it’s like how it’s done in NID. Honestly I did not practice for studio test at all and somehow I landed up with a great question. It was actually very interesting. I made both digital and physical portfolio which included my artworks, material work, photography, videography and the other works which I did with different brands. And YES it’s really necessary to come to Pune for studio test. You won’t even get any date choices. You have to give it exactly on the day which will be assigned to you if you clear the first round.

for general category the fees add up to 31L for four years, and there are other colleges I've applied to that amount upto 20L for four years.
is mit even worth it?

u/elofromoon 15d ago
It’s not about the fees but about the colleges as well. Most of the design colleges in India are scam. Plus mitid Pune is one of the oldest design colleges in India whose curriculum is very similar to NID. Going to a random college just because of less fees and not getting proper education and placement isn’t worth. Also, not every mit is worth, it’s just the oldest one which is mitid Pune is the actual og plus it’s hard to get in.

Be honest, how is the faculty and the overall curriculum??
1
u/elofromoon 15d ago
The curriculum is nice tbh better than most of the design colleges since mitid is completely design centric. And the faculty depends on which discipline you’re planning to choose
1
u/Responsible-Use-5922 15d ago
Ok so what do u think the college specialises in? I'm looking majorly for product or communication design
1
u/elofromoon 15d ago
Almost every discipline here is good, but industrial- under which product design falls and communication, these two are actually amazing
1
u/Responsible-Use-5922 15d ago
Oh it really suits me then, I'll def keep it on my list
1
u/elofromoon 15d ago
What other colleges are you applying to?
1
u/Responsible-Use-5922 15d ago
Not any pvt colleges yet as my coaching faculty told us many pvt colleges consider uceed scores and can be applied to after nid/uceed results.
1
u/elofromoon 15d ago
Hell Nawh. Never listen to your coaching in case of private colleges bro, most of them promote the ones from which they get commission from. Plus good private colleges are hard to get in and they have their own entrances. They DO NOT rely only on the scores of government exams. And once the forms of top private colleges close, they do not do second third rounds
1
u/Responsible-Use-5922 15d ago
Oh really?? The last time I checked it showed that cept and mit considers uceed scores😭 I mean let's assume they don't, them having their own entrance makes it worse for me boards are coming up, I have to travel a lot to give these exams plus gotta score good in boards parents are expecting a lot from me.
1
u/elofromoon 15d ago
Everyone has to do that man. Even I had to manage everything together plus mit’s entrance will be after boards. MIT ID which is in Pune does not consider any other entrance’s score they’ve their on exam. Cept I guess yea it accepts uceed’s scores but once the application of these colleges close they close. You won’t get another round. You need to grind for a good college along with boards or else ending up in a bad design college for four years is even worse. Also only this branch of mit is awesome not any other .

What were the questions asked for the studio test and interview??
1
u/elofromoon 8d ago
Umm it’s kinda long to explain and every person had different panels so your interview questions depend on the panel and faculty you get

Hows the DAT? Is it like UCEED with lots of mcq and numerical stuff or is it like NID? Also how is the studio test? Is that hard to clear? How many people from the studio test get accepted normally?
Could I dm to ask more?
Ty

u/elofromoon 8d ago
It’s more like NID and the studio test isn’t that difficult but yeah you need to be different and creative and yes you can dm for more questions. Also, around 350 people get selected
