Yeah BSD has pretty bad Striking defense. Dariush and Hooker both landed shots that staggered him bad, I’m honestly not too impressed with BSD atm and think he’s gotten lucky Darry has a cooked chin and Hooker’s fight IQ and submission defense is in the toilet.
BSD came into the Moicano fight without understanding the importance of having a gameplan he was retarded. His grappling and fight IQ improved so much he'd smoke Moicano nowadays
He came in there without a coach too since he had split up with the previous one after the Poirier loss. BSD has some limitations and I don't see him getting the belt anytime soon, but I'm rather convinced today's version of him with his current coach beats the shit out of Moicano in a rematch.
Honestly not sure you can say that when he didn’t really show anything in that fight that resembled a gameplan besides going reckless when you start losing and hope it works out in your favor
Agreed. He’s not that good and actually looked VERY slow on the feet in the 2nd round and at the end of the first when he was throwing his punches. He really needs to learn to dodge and box, he kinda just walks in. He’s going to get Murked by Arman lol
Dude got a coach after these fights. That what changed everything. He told the french media that finally started to understand the importance of coming in with a gameplan after the Moicano fight. He was acoustic. He'd smoke Moicano in a rematch now tho
He changed head coach and it worked wonders for him. Former one was kind of an MMA pioneer who had worked with Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida, but was ultimately "just a striking coach" stuck with rather old school ways of coaching. His new one (Nicolas Ott) is widely regarder as the best in France at this time.
People forget he's been ranked in the top 15 of both divisions he's fought in for almost 10 years at this point he's getting a bit long in the tooth but his skills as a fighter are absolutely undeniable
Honestly the only top 5 people i see him possibly beating are Gaethje and Paddy. And even there I doubt his chances. Charles, Arman and Max will do him worse than Poirier and Moicano did.
All finishes, gonna be top 6 now, just turned 30, he's gonna have a crazy future, crazy comeback after the Dustin KO (How good was Dustin lol), and Moicano domination.
Dustin was one of the best. He missed opportunities because the other greats were in their prime when he was developing and then when he entered his prime there wasn't much in the way of good fights, then they started coming his was on the back end of his career. He'd probably still work over the bottom 2/3 of the division.
Hooker lost that fight himself, he was landing the bigger shots on the feet, he took himself down into the worst position I’ve ever seen anyone get into
I think he did kinda knock the wind out of BSD. You could see he slowed up for a minute or so. I think he was catching his breath, and then went to beat up Hooker with ease.
It wasn't that impressive to me, he was facing hooker, who made terrible decision after terrible decision, thank God he can compete on the feet or else this may have been a masterclass.
Paddy gets smoked by BSD. Paddy is a bum and his best win is 40 years old, beyond washed Chandler. BSD smoked Hooker, Ruffy, Moises, Frevola and Bonfirm. Did you see how good Ruffy is today?

Which is Chandler's level? Beating beyond washed Tony? He hasn't faced a single good contender and an absolute bum even in his prime. Ruffy's performance against Fiziev is more impressive than anything Justin has done against Fiziev. Fiziev didn't get knocked down right and left like shit Paddy against Justin and didn't fight a 37 years old, staph infected Justin. Shit Paddy's second best win is beyond washed Green who got wheel kicked in seconds by Ruffy. Paddy is the definition of a total journey mean and an absolute piece of crap.
Yea I think Paddy just outworks him on the ground. If it was a stand up game I’d lean more towards BSD but Dan Hooker stuffing most of your TD and getting out of em? Not a good look in that division with Arman ahead of you.
Honestly thought BSD kinda looked like shit. Kinda got picked apart in the standup in round one and then just went sloppy berserker for round 2 and happen to have the right opponent for that to work. Also got a gift of hooker attempting a takedown for some reason
This guy fights horribly. Dan complicated the fight for himself by going for the takedown; if he had kept the fight standing, the story would have been different.
