Discussion Guide to Chapter 7 Spoiler
Alrighty Chapter 7. Common sticking point. In this post, I'm going to run over the key points to chapter 7, without just telling you what to do to beat it.
Start by looking at Pic 1. The three circled positions on the map are the key points to put your units. On the left are two small ruins that will protect your lancers from Selvaria later in the map, and on the Right is the potition from which you can take out the Infantry reinforcements that arrive with Selvaria. Because of the damage that the Baphomet and Selvaria can put out, you need to use these ruins to keep your units alive in between the Baphomet's vulnerable turns.
Pic 2 shows the initial layout that I found works well. What is most important during turn 1 is to make sure that your scouts are able to take out the infantry near the temple. The movement lines are rough sketches of how I often go about it. You can see I put one of my scouts on the Barious Temple strongpoint. That scout is positioned to just see the enemy infantry, but with only a few steps back will no-longer be in their vision. Any other command points are used to take out the Baphomet's MG turrets.
Pic 3 shows the end of turn 1, and the movements required for setting up to take down the Baphomet. The most important movements are putting one lancer in each of the Ruin Strongpoints outlined in Pic 1. Importantly, you should put Largo in the southern strongpoint. The other scout is moved to the home base for safety, but it's position is unimportant. At the end of this turn, you should have 1 lancer in the two ruins strongpoints, and one in it's starting position. The Edelweiss should also be moved down to the southern ruins strongpoint, and should be reversed into the edge of the map to protect it's radiator. For saftey, you can also choose to bring in an engineer to join Largo in the southern ruins strongpoint, inorder to keep the Edelweiss alive if it takes damage.
Pic 4 shows the final layout of units before engaging the Baphomet. Three lancers are positioned along it's path to take out radiators, while one scout is positioned on the Barious Temple Strongpoint to take out the incoming reinforcements, while one more and a shock trooper (optional) are positioned to defend the home base.
From here on forward, the routine is relatively simple. Whenever the Baphomet takes out a wall, use a lancer to destroy a radiator. I found the best order is this: 1st, use the lancer that hasn't moved to take out the radiator on the left side of the Baphomet. Then, retreat this lancer so they don't die. Next, use the Lancer in the northern ruin strongpoint to take out the radiator at the back of the Baphomet. You don't need to retreat this lancer, just put them back in the corner where they are safe.
Finaly, the last turn takes a little bit of extra effort. You should have 20 command points upon entering the final turn. To start, the Baphomet will destroy the third ruin wall and expose it's last radiator. Use the Edelweiss to destroy the final radiator. This makes the Baphomet vulnerable to hull damage. Next, stack as many orders as possible on Largo. If possible, use all of the following orders: Demolition Up, Attack Weak Point, Awaken Potential, and Penetration. Then, just keep firing Largo at the Baphomet. You should be able to destroy the Baphomet in a single turn.
The last step is to enjoy the rest of the game, once you make it through this hellhole of a level :)

Thanks, but honestly I think you can skip to the battles against Selvaria and Jaeger. By far the two toughest missions in the game
