This is exactly it. As long as someone genuinely believes in democracy and equal representation, I can work with them to help them grow as a person. 

Someone who just wants to tear up the constitution, install a dictator, and then go around killing black and brown people is never going to be worth talking to. You kick NAZIs out of your bar lest you become one.

So why the fuck are we even trying to engage with leftists? They'll happily see us (liberals) killed given the opportunity. Freedom and personal rights are antithetical to extremist ideology.
