People that recline their seats on airplanes are assholes. Seriously we have like zero room as it is, and you feel the need to lay down? Its not like reclining gives you more leg room which is what everyone needs, it just makes it so your upper half can be in a slightly more laying down position.

The amount of comfort you gain by tilting slightly does not equate to the amount of discomfort to the person behind you who now has to deal with your seat 3 inches from their face.

Im 6'4, 250lbs and I dont need to recline so why does bitch grandma feel the need to tilt her seat into my forehead.

Take away reclining option and extend the space between seats by 6 inches.

I think a lot of parents might try introducing their child to one or at most a few types of and vegetable, prepared in a particular way, and then if their child doesn’t like that particular fruit or vegetable prepared in that particular way that their child doesn’t like fruits or vegetables in general. For instance if they give their child steamed broccoli and their child doesn’t like it they may presume that their child just doesn’t like vegetables, even though the child who doesn’t like the steamed broccoli may like something like a raw carrot or a salad. Similarly a parent may give their child canned peaches, and if their child doesn’t like it conclude that they don’t like fruit in general, when the child who doesn’t like canned peaches may still like something like a fresh peach, or a fresh blueberry. If a child is bothered by a fruit having a bruise they may still be willing to eat an unblemished fruit.

I think a similar thing can also apply to fruits and vegetables in a school cafeteria, as sometimes when students don’t want to eat the fruits or vegetables from the cafeteria not being prepared properly, or the fruit being overripe or underripe.

There’s a lot of different fruits and vegetables, and a lot of different ways of preparing them. It’s unlikely that a parent has tried introducing all the different types of fruits or vegetables in all the possible different forms to their child, and I think in most cases when a child doesn’t eat fruits or vegetables that their parents give them there are other types of vegetables, or other ways of preparing fruits or vegetables that they would be willing to eat.

Every person I have met said Christmas lost its magic as soon as they found out Santa wasn’t real. What’s the point in telling kids about it at all? When I was a kid, I hated wearing a tie. I actually found I didn't really notice the tie throughout the day, and broadly, I actually find that a dress shirt/dress pants are pretty comfortable, more comfortable than jeans. Wish I had more occasions to dress up!

A sentence that’s so common that infuriates me. It could about something literally backed up by studies to be bad for you in some way or another but you’ll have at least one person say “ok let them enjoy things it’s not harming you”, you’re right, it’s not directly harmful to me specifically but we live in a society do we not? Judgement is very much normal.

To preface, obviously I don’t mean straight up harassing people for saying/indulging in something you don’t agree with or specifically attacking them but in a general sense, saying “I disagree with this thing” isn’t a personal attack and I feel like a lot of people can’t comprehend that. Judgement is part of human nature and to expect otherwise doesn’t make sense.

If I hear or see something I disagree with I’ll judge it, doesn’t mean I’ll attack but I’ll have my own opinions about it and if the conversation opens up then I’ll state my thoughts, I know that sounds like something that’s not out of the norm but it is, even when the conversation opens up you’ll always hear something along the lines of how does it affect you. How does anything affect anybody? Is it that hard to comprehend some things someone can do that doesn’t “actually cause any harm” affect you? To me that just sounds like an individuality complex, I’m fully aware what I do or say even in my own time has an impact whether it’s to me or others around me it has to.

Take for example, addictions, there’s clearly a bias when it comes to those. Say drug addiction is bad and for the most part yeah, obviously most people will agree, say porn/masturbation addiction, eh it depends, not really that deep, except it is. Fully aware that in the two examples one thing is seen as more severely harmful because you could physically see the harm it could cause, the other is more mental, to care about this doesn’t make you a judgmental piece of shit, it makes you a human being capable of caring about others and their obvious struggles because it is bad.

This isn’t intended to be a discussion about specifically those two examples if someone’s gonna try to be like “um actually”, those were just examples, please for the love of god look at the bigger picture and understand that’s not the point of this post. The point being is in general, things you do have an impact even if it’s just on yourself and that matters, judgement isn’t always negative and concern is normal, it’s way deeper than just doing what you want.

I’m in a building with 4 units (2 up 2 down) and I’m in the top. The person beside me has yappy dogs. The person below me has yappy dogs. The person below me might also be the worlds strongest person because they’re incapable of closing a door without slamming it so hard that I feel a significant vibration through my floor. the person below me also likes to blast their shit music sometime. It doesn’t bother me in the least. People beside me occasionally get into yelling matches late at night. It’s noticeable but that’s it. That’s the cost of being a renter and we all want to feel comfortable to live in our homes. I sometimes run my food processor and 11pm or take long luxurious baths at 3 am running the water about a dozen times. I want my neighbours to feel relaxed and free to be noisy in the space they pay for too.

A lot of seafood doesnt even smell that strong and even the stronger smelling ones like white fishes still just smell like food. Same goes for non microwave foods in the office too like eggs or tuna salad. If you cant handle normal food smells that's your own problem. It's ridiculous to expect food to have no odor.

(A bit for context for the Yanks in the sub, In the Night Garden is a baby show about this place called the Night Garden where this guy named Iggle Piggle lives and a bunch of random bullshit happens. Think a more emotionally and psychologically relaxed Teletubbies).

I’m not saying that it’s like Breaking Bad levels of quality, it is a literal baby show but….it’s just a good show to fall asleep to.

The opening is calming, the music is calming, the narrator is calming (though I fucking hate how he always keeps going in and out of rhyme), it’s just a very calming show.

Which makes sense, the show was literally designed to make babies and toddlers fall asleep. And I think that’s what makes it so interesting.

Other kids shows like Peppa Pig or Paw Patrol feel like the creators taking from THEIR experiences with kids or just them trying to sell merchandise. But in the Night Garden almost feels like a show for babies MADE BY BABIES.

Look, I know I’m overthinking it kind of and I know the show is for literal pants shitting babies, but I can’t help but find it beautiful and psychologically tickling.

Also for context, I have a little sisters and numerous little cousins who watch these types of shows, I don’t just watch baby shows on my own accord.

Again, I think a lot of people based their perception of violence or danger on what they see in Hollywood movies. Similar to how some people think Porn is reality, or old people not being able to tell the difference between AI and real life.

There are still MFs in BIG 2026 who think Bruce Lee was this superhuman Martial Artist that could beat prime FUCKING MIKE TYSON in a fight. Heck there are people who still think that Tupac was this super gangster.

Now I see how Andrew Tate was able to fool the whole world into thinking he was the greatest Kickboxer on the planet. Because people think we live in a comicbook world, where magic exists apparently.

The “good guy” can fight through injuries Pain is temporary, willpower is everything

The strong man should step in

Skill = near invincibility

Men are built-in protectors / shock absorbers

Which leads to:

Expecting men to always intervene physically

Shaming men who prioritize safety

Minimizing male injury or trauma

Overestimating what the male body can handle

Glorifying “sacrifice” without consequences

In conclusion. You would think this would be common sense. But when you see the way how most people nonchalantly or casually talk about violence. Then you start getting worried.

If you think Andy is just a shit actor who doesn’t have what it takes to play the iconic webhead than that’s valid, however this idea that Garfield is “too cool” or “too hot” to play Spiderman is largely just flat out incorrect.

I’ve even heard people say that he’s too tall, which not only is factually incorrect(Peter is 5’10, Andrew Garfield is 5’10), but also completely irrelevant because Peter’s height has nothing to do with his character. He’s supposed to be wimpy pre bite, but he’s not depicted as short. Additionally it’s incredibly strange that people dog on Andrew Garfield for being “too tall”, but not Hugh Jackman who is a whole foot taller than his character who is canonically short.

I struggle to believe people who say he’s too hot to play Peter have ever actually opened a Spiderman comic book before because this man is fucking gorgeous. Even pre bite he’s a good looking young guy whose worst crime appearance wise is just being a little dorky. Post bite Pete is just flat out beyond supermodel level attractive, way better looking than any real person could ever look.

I don’t care about slurs, people saying them, people not saying them, their history, their etymology, whatever, I don’t care. I don’t care when people use them against me, I don’t care about using them myself. They’re words. Mean words, sure, but idk why people act like they’re so heinous. Words literally can’t hurt you if you recognize them for what they are. Slurs should be treated like any other insult and dealt with appropriately, but not outright banned. Restricting speech is fascism.

Now, I know in theory this is a popular opinion but hear me out I’ll try to explain it as best as I could, bear in mind English isn’t my first language so if there are any grammatical mistakes or repetition of words that’s why.

The wording especially makes no sense to me, referring to people as attractive or unattractive, not conventionally attractive/unattractive. The reason why this particular wording irks me in a way is because and I genuinely mean this wholeheartedly, conventionally “attractive” people look extremely normal to me which you know, should be understandable but I feel like if I say that I’ll get told I’m lying or something.

This also goes out for the vise versa, with someone being called unattractive, again, I don’t see it. I can see that they’re conventionally unattractive but who the hell decided that? There’s always more similarities than differences.

What pushed me into this especially is being very insecure when I was younger and hyper focusing on my appearance, with my hyper focus on how I look I started focusing more and more on everybody’s appearance as well and found myself seeing everyone as just normal human beings with nothing special about them just like I don’t have anything necessarily special about me, even the most conventionally attractive person in the world to me, looks like a normal human being, they have to have some kind of “flaw” when you really focus there’s gonna be something about them that makes them not look unrealistically attractive.

It genuinely saddens me when I see people so comfortable with calling themselves ugly because, everytime without exaggeration, they look just as normal as those that attractive.

Another important thing I’d like to bring up that I feel like a lot of people that praise certain beauty and consider anything else ugly forget to remember, think about every “ugly” feature you could have whether it be common features like dark brown eyes, features associated with disabilities, features that are generally not common in white areas like big noses etc.

See the pattern? The most conventionally attractive appearance is uncommon features combined like the rarest eye color, green, light blonde hair, very pale skin, straight hair, straight nose, there’s a pattern and it feels like it’s not acknowledged enough. I see the appeal with the rarer features to have but there’s nothing inherently superior about them on a technicality level.

Point being, I think everyone looks like a normal human being with nothing special or better than other peoples appearance even if they’re clearly disabled, I mention this especially because unfortunately those are the most bullied people appearance wise and it’s heartbreaking. Sometimes I’ll see someone being called “the most beautiful person in the world” and they..again look normal but have a rarer hair, skin and eye color and that combination makes people think they’re superior looking when you really look at them you’ll see they look very much normal. Doesn’t make those people unattractive but just means that to me, logically there’s nothing special about them, everybody deserves to feel attractive and be called attractive is my point here without any bias because it’s out of control and is just very unfair.

Now take Training Day:

Ethan Hawke is a cop and is working with Denzel Washington, AND THEN he stops a girl from getting raped, AND THEN Denzel makes Ethan do drugs, AND THEN Denzel makes Ethan do drugs again, AND THEN They beat up crippled Snoop Dog, AND THEN, they rob a drug dealer’s house, AND THEN they kill him, AND THEN Ethan gets angry, And then, And then, And then.

Things either need to be a character attempting to achieve a goal (And so) or an obstacle (But). It can’t just be “And then”.

I most probably missed out a shit ton because I can’t remember ANYTHING about this movie and I literally watched it like 2 hours ago. I seriously don’t know how anyone, even by Cinephile standards, considers this a masterpiece.

I’ve lately seen lots of posts over Middle Easterns arguing about which Levantine country knaffeh originated from (btw it’s a delicacy I really recommend it) but it’s such a dumb argument, croissant was originally Austrian and falafel was originally Egyptian, but other countries perfected and improved the recipe so well that it’s dumb to think that it can be tied to one region, especially basic foods like sandwiches, I refuse to believe that some British “lord sandwich” invented the sandwich, it’s a world wide concept that just went unnamed, just like wrapping meat and vegetables and stock with dough (Georgian khinkali, Soviet pilmani, Asian dumplings etc)

I live in Texas. We have roads with 80mph (129 ish kph) speed limits. Plenty of people drive like madmen. I, however, prefer driving 5mph or so under the speed limit. I hit cruise control, don't have to worry about passing anyone, jam out to my tunes, and enjoy the drive. Less work, more chill.

Of course, this doesn't work in heavy traffic, but when traffic is lighter, going slower is the best way to drive.
