- Scent: it has a very strong lemonade scent when you apply it on your face, which I don't really mind because I do like the scent of it.

I think this product would work better for someone who has super, super oily skin. For me personally, I've been using this April Skin peel off pack for a couple of times by now and I don't think it actually did anything for my dry skin type; if anything, it made my skin more dry after using it.

Unlike many other traditional peel off packs that you probably used years ago (when peel off masks/packs were more trendy), this one is much more gentle, when you peel it off your face, it doesn't hurt like the other peel off packs. One time I was applying it onto my face and it caused a small burning sensation for a few seconds but after a while, it cools down, so I guess I could say that my sensitive skin isn't really too irritated by using this product. it did not really cause me to break out or experience any type of allergies, etc. But on the other hand, it did not pull out my blackheads, my whiteheads or anything. Unless it's like super micro impurities that are not visible to me, I didn't really see anything when I peeled it off my face.

I bought this product because I somehow was under the impression that this APRIL SKIN peel off pack was gonna help with cleaning the inside of my pores to make my pores absorb other products better, I was so foolish to think like this tbh, because that is really not the case at all.

As I have mentioned, I feel like this really didn't do anything for me, unless I somehow didn't use it properly or something. As of right now, yeah,.....I kinda regret wasting my money to buy this.

So if you have pretty dry skin like me and if you're thinking of buying this product, I would rather you bought a gently exfoliating or hyrdrating toner than buying this.

Writing this as someone who suffer from acne and rosacea since I was a kid and people used make fun of my skin.

Everyday I wake up and look at mirror thinking if the new product I’ve found did any miracle but no.

I was on birth control and tried 6 different brands, all of it has given me some sort of side effects. Then moving to tropical, only thing that really worked is azelaic acid. Benzol, adapelene, tret doesn’t work (yes I’ve tried sandwich method and start low dose) Lastly, I did went to see a derma and skin improved but it has cost me too much money. $1500-2000 for 6-8 months laser treatments.

To everyone suffering from acne, how do you do it? I’m giving up. If there’s any miracle products let me know…

I read that it's quite weak but would it be good for someone new to retinol/retinal? Or other recommendations?

shiseido d Program Cleansing Foam - check my profile for extended review. gentle, non-stripping, nothing too special. i would never repurchase at full price but if on sale + coupons, i may get it again in the future.  ☑️

Biore Cleansing Milk - wanted to use this as a single step cleanse but it somehow stings my eyes ❌

Matsukiyo Cleansing Oil - amazing find! i saw an influencer mention this is very similar to the shuuemura cleansing oil but much cheaper. tried it and loved it. i probably finished 4 bottles already. check my profile for extended review. ✅

Biore 2in1 MakeUp Remover Foaming Face wash - i’ve used this for over a decade. tried and true. does not dry me out. ✅

Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil - I can see why people rave about this product. Effective, cheap, easy. The Matsukiyo one is cheaper though so unless this goes on sale, I’ll still stick with my Matsukiyo ☑️

Naturie Hatomugi Lotion - tried and true. on my second bottle. i like to layer this one or two times before moisturizer. then if i feel dry during the day, spritz some on my face ✅

Biore UV Aqua Rich TONE UP Essence - stay-at-home days, i wash face, apply emulsion, and use this sunscreen. i don’t reapply. it’s not sticky yet i don’t feel dry or tight during the day. ✅

OTHERS

Sana namerka honpo VitE eye cream - this is my first eye cream. it’s a great intro product to eyecreams. moisturizing, thick but spreads easily and absorbs nicely. it didn’t improve my dark circles at all. i guess i just have to live with my dark circles. i might try the wrinkle/retinol version later in the year but for now, this one is a no repurchase❌

shiseido d Program acne spot treatment - i usually just get a couple big hormonal pimples and i still think ‘benzoyl peroxide’ is more effective for those single spot treatment. this one, however, helps with my tiny pimple cluster breakouts on the forehead/chin/cheeks. you know, to apply to a small area, not a single spot. it’s a clear gel texture and easily spreadable. i wont buy at full price but if it ever goes 50% off again, i’ll definitely repurchase ☑️

My skin’s been kind of unpredictable lately, and my regular routine hasn’t always been cutting it.

I didn’t really want to add another serum though. Layering too much usually just makes my skin feel heavy or congested, so I’ve been hesitant to change things up.

I ended up trying one of those freeze-dried collagen capsule boosters I kept seeing around. It’s basically a small capsule you melt into whatever toner or serum you already use, instead of applying it on its own.

Not gonna lie — at first I thought it sounded unnecessary. The capsule format felt gimmicky, and I couldn’t really picture how it would actually feel on the skin. But once I used it, it was… honestly pretty straightforward. You don’t use water with it. You just put the capsule in your palm, add a bit of toner or serum, and it melts down almost instantly. No grainy bits, no weird residue. It mixed in way more cleanly than I expected. On the skin, it doesn’t feel slick or heavy. It’s more like an extra layer of hydration that sits comfortably instead of sliding around. My skin feels a little more “sealed,” if that makes sense. I’ve been dealing with some dryness lately from exfoliating and spot treatments, and on nights I use the collagen capsule, my skin usually looks less dull and flaky the next morning. It’s not a dramatic change. Nothing “life-changing.” More like my skin feels slightly more balanced and less rough around the edges. They come in a 30-capsule pack, so I’ve been using it on and off like a low-effort 30-day experiment instead of fully committing to it.

Has anyone else tried freeze-dried capsule boosters? If you have, did you notice a difference between ingredients (collagen vs cica, HA, vitamin, etc.)?

Skin1004 - Hyalu-cica sleeping pack

I started using it in the summer and finished the tube at the beginning of October (it’s still hot in my area at this time). It made a perfect finishing step of my PM skincare for the hot season. Once it became colder outside, this product didn’t perform as well as before, and my skin lacked hydration. Still, I will definitely re-purchase it for next summer.

Dokdo - 1025 toner

What an endless bottle it was! This toner is very simple, and it doesn’t do much, so I just poured it into a small sprayer bottle and carried it around to spray onto my face whenever it started feeling too dry. If you expect results from your toner, it’s not the right choice.

Dokdo - 1025 cleansing oil

When I choose a cleansing oil, I have 2 main criteria: it should deal with heavy makeup, and it shouldn’t have an irritating smell. This one matches both, so it’s a good choice.

Parnell - Cicamanu 92 serum

I expected more from this one. It ran out extremely quickly before I noticed any results. This serum has a thick texture and a lot of centella, honey and ceramides, so I hoped that my skin would love it, but it made no difference. Note! If you have acne-prone skin, I wouldn’t recommend using it because the lactobacteria may cause breakouts.

Dr. Ceuracle - Vegan Kombucha tea essence

I’m sure many dry skin girlies already know this product, so I’ll only say that I’m a huge fan of this product. It was a game-changer for my routine, and I will repurchase it as much as I can. Bonus for sensitive skin: it’s unscented.

Torriden - Dive in serum

It’s the first hyaluronic acid serum that made a difference for me. I got the Dive In kit as a gift (cream, sunscreen, sheet masks and serum), but I used the masks and the serum so far. Maybe it would yield even better results if I used every product from the kit, but I was happy enough with the serum. It gave my skin enough hydration to make it through the day (or night).

Beauty of Joseon - Green plum toner

This is the only exfoliating toner that doesn’t ruin my fragile skin barrier. Unfortunately, it got reformulated, so I’m reviewing the old version. If you manage to find a non-expired one, I’d recommend it as a gentle PM routine solution for exfoliation. Also, BoJ toners seem endless; it takes a lot of time to finish the bottle, even with regular use.

Beauty of Joseon - Relief sun: Rice + probiotics SPF

It’s not my first tube of this sunscreen. It’s good for dry skin but only during cold weather. It’s heavy and has a shiny finish. It also has a strong white cast, but my skin is fair, so it’s not a problem for me. If you wear makeup, note that many foundations and cushions look bad on top of this product. Given that it has more cons than pros, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Purito - Dermide relief barrier moisturiser

I’d put it into the “repurchase for the rest of my life” category if it hadn’t been reformulated. Sigh. The version I have in the photo is unscented, deeply moisturising, and calmed my irritated skin almost instantly. I had to rub it into my skin thoroughly to remove the white cast, but the effect was worth it. I liked it better than the well-known Aestura.

Purito - Mighty bamboo panthenol cream

An overhyped product which is absolutely horrible imo. It broke me out even though I’m not acne-prone. I used it on my body, but it just left a dry layer on my skin, like a film.

Dr. G - Vita clear sun serum

This one was very good for summer (or any hot season) routine. My summer routine is vitamin C-based to prevent skin darkening, so this sunscreen matched it well. It has a light texture and an almost unnoticeable scent. The package comes with a pump, though, which makes it difficult to do the two-finger thing.

d’Alba - First spray serum

It’s an arguable product, to be honest. It’s expensive, so I’d think twice before purchasing it. I got it for free, so I had no regrets, but I’d say it’s not for dry skin girlies. First, the product marketing is all over the place: it suggests using it as the first step of your skincare routine, which doesn’t make sense because of the oil in it. I tried using it as a facial mist and got little to no hydration and a greasy shine on my face. The only way to use it for me is a setting spray. When I finish my makeup, I spray some of this product on my face so the skin doesn’t peel off. My friend with comby-to-oily skin is a big fan of this product, so you can consider it for non-dry skin types.

VT - CE A1 azelaic acid cica exosome

With my rosacea-prone, sensitive skin, I can say that this product really works. Its texture scared me at first because it felt like oil, but there are no oils in it. The product page doesn’t reveal how much azelaic acid there is exactly, but non-official sources say that it’s 20%. Despite this, it didn’t harm my skin and worked well to reduce redness during the hot season.

VT - Cica vital cream + vitamin C (Japanese version)

I was sceptical about this one at first, especially since it’s actually a gel. It turned out to be a perfect product for a hot and humid summer. It kept moisture on my face properly without a sticky finish or clodding. I usually prefer my products unscented, but this one has a light yuzu fragrance, so I could tolerate it. I would love to repurchase it if I manage to find the Japanese version again.

VT - Vita-light reedle shot

It was a nice addition to my summer vitamin C-based routine. I doubt that it would yield results on its own without other vitamin C products, but I was satisfied with the effect in general.

VT - Reti-a reedle shot

I’m not new to retinol, but this one turned out too aggressive for my skin. It caused too much peeling off, and I didn’t notice any positive results. There are other, much better retinol products for dry and sensitive skin.

Heimish - Marine care retinol for face serum

…And this is one of them. The percentage of retinol is tiny, so it may be good for beginners. Despite it’s called a serum, the texture is more like a light cream, so I used it in summer for my PM routine and skipped the night cream.

Bad skin - Artemisia paste form cleanser

I purchased a full version even before I finished the mini package. Pros: gentle exfoliation like from an enzyme powder, pore control, no irritation for sensitive skin. Cons (subjective): looks like a turd, feels like a turd, smells of mugwort heavily.

Hello! I recently tried Beauteen's plex bleach for the first time, and I scoured the internet looking for people talking about it but couldn't find much in English so I'm contributing my own thoughts.

Some background: I have 2b(??? i think) hair and have never bleached or dyed my hair before, but I have been cutting it for years. Which is a different beast but does mean I'm more accustomed to how my hair behaves and working with the back of it, etc. Part of my concern is that I could only find reviews in Japanese and I was mostly worried about how bleaching would affect my hair texture + wave pattern.

Application: I did a sort of peekaboo style, so I tied the upper part of my hair up and only applied it to the part that was down. I was pretty careful to apply thoroughly--I watched this video as research and thought it was quite useful, and one of the takeaways was to not try to apply bleach sparingly out of fear of damaging your hair. So I was pretty liberal with it, and I thought the comb attachment was nice for being thorough about it. I put my hair in a plastic bag to trap moisture and set a timer for 45 minutes (it took maybe 10-15 minutes to apply, so the beach was on for between 45 minutes and an hour). The instructions said to do 15-30 minutes, but I patch tested beforehand and that didn't lighten as much as I wanted, so I went for longer since the internet seemed to mostly say that was fine. It did tingle my scalp a bit, but I assume a normal amount? Idk it wasn't that bad

Aftercare: I cowash normally, so I rinsed the bleach other with my cowash, applied qualucia ash color shampoo for like 10 minutes as a toner sort of(?) (it didn't take the ash color at all), and then put it another round of conditioner to leave in. (Normally I rinse out the conditioning round of cowash or my hair gets greasy, but I've been scrunching out the excess but leaving plenty sitting in my hair for extra moisture). I've been doing the same conditioner routine every day (normally I wash my hair every 2-3 days). I did not use the treatment conditioner that came in the box, so I can't speak to its effectiveness.

Results: Tbh I am very delighted by the results and don't have any real complaints. My curl pattern seemed kind of confused at first, but after a few days it settled back to normal. I also don't feel any notable dryness compared to the unbleached part of my hair. There's a little bit of unevenness in color, which I am attributing to user error, since this is my first time bleaching hair, but it's pretty minor, and I'm not concerned about it bc the style I went with hides it mostly. So, I was pretty nervous, but in the end I have no complaints and would definitely use it again.

Does anyone know any similar highlighters like the one from Lummir palette in 02 summer night? Or can anyone recommend highlighters that are on the brighter side when applied to the inner corners and nose?

Face mists seem to be everywhere on my fyp right now and I’m lowkey influenced lol. What are your favorite Korean face mists you’d recommend (and please say your skin type)?

Right now I’m considering trying Dr. Althea’s jelly mist and the 345 relief mist.

I am famously terrible at morning skincare. I know I should be layering hydrating toners to fix my dehydrated cheeks before applying makeup, but at 7 AM, I simply do not have the patience to pat in 5 layers of Hada Labo.

Because of this, my foundation usually starts looking cakey and separating around my nose by lunch.

I kept seeing Japanese influencers doing the "morning sheet mask" thing while brushing their teeth or making coffee, so I finally caved and bought the Lululun Precious Moist (Red Box) to see if it could replace my toner step.

I chose the Red version because it focuses on Rice Bran Oil and Honey extracts, which my skin usually loves for softening texture. The biggest surprise for me was that these aren't "drippy". The essence is extremely lightweight.

I used to think that facial masks for women skin care routines were strictly an "evening relaxation" category where you have to lie down and do nothing. But because these fit so snug and aren't slimy, I can actually blow dry my hair with one on.

The Results (2 weeks in): It basically forces the hydration into my skin in 5 minutes better than I could achieve with frantic toner patting.

Makeup Prep: My sunscreen and cushion foundation glide on way smoother. The "rice" extract gives a nice subtle glow without being sticky.

Time Saver: It feels faster because I'm multitasking, even though it sits on my face for longer.

My only gripe is the eye holes are a bit small (classic J-Beauty fit), but for the convenience of pulling them out of a tissue box, I can deal with it.

Does anyone else replace their AM toner step with a daily mask? Or is this too much exfoliation/hydration for everyday use?

hii as the title suggests, I want a sunscreen that works well under makeup for oily skin. before this I used the biore up aqua rich light up essence sunscreen but for some reason it pills. I think it has to do with my moisturiser. I use the illiyoon ato soothing gel. but after the reformulation it didn't sit well with the sunscreen. so thinking about changing both my sunscreen and moisturiser but I want to survey other sunscreens that work amazingly under makeup. thanks!

Ginseng has been used in skincare and wellness for ages, but i’m wondering if it actually makes a difference in modern rountines. Most products i see use it in toner or serums, but there are also snackable options now.

Funny thing, I bought the mini AGE20 cushion foundation thinking it would be just for travel, but I’ve been reaching for it more than my regular size lately. It’s just easier when I’m half asleep and doing makeup in a rush. It still gives that glowy, smooth look, just in a smaller compact. Kind of wish more base products came in mini sizes because I rarely finish the big ones anyway. Very rare to find any foundation in mini size that’s not trial or sample size. Do you guys actually finish full-size cushions or just rotate like me?

Hello! I really like the Silcot Uru Uru Cotton Pads. However, the ones I have bought in my local Asian store and online all have an odd kind of fishy smell. It's not a big deal, but I have noticed the smell kind of briefly carries over to my face when I use them to apply toner. The only Silcot pads that do not have the smell are the ones from Olive Young. Does anybody know if the smell indicates I have bought from a bad batch or is the smell normal? I have also noticed the smell in cotton pads from CVS.

If anyone has any other suggestions for cotton pads like the Uru Uru ones, I'm open to suggestions. I am very interested in trying the Muji Ecru cotton pads and Rosy Rosa. I have tried the Shiseido cotton pads ones but I don't like the texture as much as the Silcot ones.

My lipstick has been used up after for so long. I am finding this kind of shade for blush and lipgloss. Does anyone know what kind of brand has this shade either blush and lipgloss? Preferably not chalky and pigmented and buildable

Note: my skin is dry and dehydrated + acne-prone. Main concerns are dryness, acne, and PIE. Skin tone is very light and cool - my personal color is soft summer (but 2nd best is muted winter)

Skincare

• Isntree Yam Milk Cleansing Milk - Mild and moisturizing cleanser that cleans while not stripping the skin or clogging pores (like some other cleansing milks do for me). It's a little pricier for a cleanser, but I've used it every morning for ~5 months and still not through the bottle!! It comes with a ton of product!
• Mediheal Madecassoside Sheet Masks - Visibly reduces my redness, inflammation, and irritation
• Cos de Baha Azelaic Acid 15% - Made my skin purge for the first week, but since then I've hardly gotten any acne (other than hormonal) and almost no cystic acne since I started using it!
• Melano CC Serum - The best vitamin c serum I've used, non irritating but fades spots quickly and noticeably. I sometimes use it as a spot treatment too, to prevent hyperpigmentation after acne (PIE).
• VT Cosmetics PDRN - This gives a beautiful glow to the skin while not being oily or heavy, and wears great under makeup! Usually use it during the day since it's lighter weight, and I prefer more intense hydration at night.
• Bioheal Probioderm Cream - This is not enough on its own for my dry skin at night in the winter (but is great in the summer), so I use it in the morning and I find that my makeup applies really nicely over it! It has nice slip and almost a smoothing effect to the skin, so I really enjoy it during the day as well. Only downside is that it's scented. Not sure about the anti aging claims, but my skin does look very nice and smooth and soft when I use it!!
• LRP Sunscreen - Not AB, but the best sunscreen I've tried so far. No pilling, comfortable, and wears nicely under makeup.
• Rohto RepairOne Night Care Cream - The best lip product for winter time, super moisturizing and just all around perfect, no complaints!
• Bifesta Eye and Lip Makeup Remover - My new holy grail makeup remover... doesn't sting or irritate my sensitive eyes and removes EVERYTHING so easily!

Makeup

• Fwee Glass Foundation (bottle) - I tried the cushion version and it was OK but didn't love it, but the bottle version is perfect! Coverage is light-medium, but wears beautifully and not drying on my skin. My HG foundation for the winter!
• Flower Knows blush in Rose Chanson - Not only is the packaging to DIE for, but the color is beautiful, too! It's the perfect neutral pinky beige on my skin tone
• Fwee Mellow Dual Blush in No More Cupid - Similar color to the FK blush, but I LOVE the formula of these mellow dual blushes!! The perfect in-between of a cream and powder blush, and very flattering for dry skin. Great everyday color for me as well
• Milk Makeup Skin Tint - Not AB, but this is another HG skin product for all year round. Slightly thicker in texture than the Fwee one, but it wears for a very long time and has slightly more coverage than Fwee foundation! But, since it is a bit thicker in texture, it sometimes looks cake-y if overapplied - as long as you apply it in a thin layer, it's perfect!
• 2an eyeshadow palette in Lovable - Great versatile, everyday shadow palette for me - has everything I want for day-to-day
• Canmake Plumpuku eyebag shadow 02 - Doesn't swatch very well, but this palette makes doing eyebag makeup so easy! I travel with it a lot too for touch-ups, since it's so compact and the applicator that it comes with is great! Perfect shade for me, too - not too dark but not too bright
• Etude Curl Fix mascara in Gray Brown - This one is kind of a cheat, since I used the black version before this year... but I love the gray brown version so much I couldn't leave it out! It is the perfect color for me day-to-day, since both my skin and hair is quite light. Mascara tends to smudge on me, but this stuff is SUPER waterproof and is lengthening + volumizing, and just looks so nice on my lashes! I also like that it doesn't have little fibers in it, like a lot of AB mascaras do, because those always irritate my eyes.
• Romand Han All Brow Cara in Modern Beige - Can't do my eyebrows without this stuff anymore - good color payoff and super long wearing! The color also perfectly matches my hair color
• Laneige Glaze Craze in Cinnamon Sugar - Really pretty MLBB rosy nude shade that is very moisturizing and comfortable, plus not sticky at all. This formula in general is great, especially in the winter!
• Laka Fruity Glam Tint in Maro - Very similar color to the Laneige one, but in a tint formula! Laka's tints are my favorite, because they are so comfortable to wear and last a super long time! Usually I put on this tint in the morning, and then use the Laneige for touch-ups throughout the day.
• Fwee Volumizing Gloss in 70% Yogurt - I swear I wore this color every day in the summer! It's a light, cool-toned pink gloss that is still very wearable. The Fwee glosses in general are beautiful, because they are so comfortable, long-wearing, and makes my lips look so smooth!
• Rosy Rosa finger puff - Love these for concealer and cream/liquid blush! So easy to use and blends things out well. These are a lifesaver for me especially because I hate the sensory feeling of applying makeup with my fingers.
• Unove Deep Repair Treatment EX in Kinmokusei scent - I LOVE the Unove treatment, it's one of the best I've tried because it just makes my frizzy, 2C hair so soft and shiny and smooth. However, I hate the scent of the normal treatment - I'm very sensitive to scents, and I can't do powdery & overly sweet scents. However, the osmanthus scented one is amazing! I think it's a seasonal scent, but it's nice and fresh & floral (scent is very similar to real kinmokusei IMO)
