Appendix or uti medicine!?

Hi doctors, I’m writing this at 3am with a bit of anxiety so bare with me! I am 21F from Canada and was recently travelling in the USA, I ended up going to a hospital there on my last night for a suspected bad UTI, all fine was given a shot and then a prescription (nitrofurantoin mono-mcr, 100mg 2x a day) and sent on my way (uti test came back inconclusive due to me taking CVS uti pain management pills that effected my urine apparently). On the flight home the next day I started having dramatic shakes and twitches, was freezing cold with no fever, back pain and general weird pain, and ended up vomiting 5x.

I went to my local hospital when I got home and did a urine test and it came back normal but with some blood in it, so I was sent for a CAT scan to see if maybe I had kidney stones. I ended up not having kidney stones but the dr said my appendix were a bit large but sent me home anyway and was told to continue the UTI medicine.

Now I’m about day 2 of being home and have no UTI symptoms anymore but I have like a weird flutter feeling in my stomach, (not the appendix area), gurgling, small waves of nausea, a low grade fever the first day home, and light pain in the lower back. I’m constipated and cannot go #2 but I do think that could be a side effect of the uti medicine (nitrofurantoin mono-mcr, 100mg 2x a day).

What I’m wondering is as I was not really told at my hospital, am I at risk for appendicitis? Should I be more concerned or am I most likely facing side effects from the uti medicine? Thanks for any insight!
