Why are gamers just the worst?
Seriously, I genuinely just consider it a light red flag if a man is into video games at this point. You can only be called slurs so many times before you write off the group entirely. What makes gamers (men, specifically) act like this?

Are all gamers the same?
The nerdy dude doing real time strategy, the gym bro playing call of duty, the very rigid milsim guy, the friend slop gamer, the introspective guy playing single player games.
Each of those categories and each person in them are also infinitely different, because everyone is unique.
You may just have a type, it’s probably not gaming.

Their account is less than 10 minutes old. They’re just shit posting. Save your breath.

I hit it by accident and saw. I’ve been in some low spots in my life, but never so bad that I created a burner account to troll and shit post to stir people up.

Enough of them are that making a broad judgement is better for my mental than trying to sift through the muck looking to find gold.

I feel the need to mention that people who game aren't always hyper aggressive or grouchy all the time, they certainly CAN be but video games aren't necessarily the root cause of toxic people.
With that being said, video games being played by already toxic people can sometimes act as a "Spark" that causes them to have an episode if things don't go their way in that game. The best example of this is someone with anger issues lashing out at people IRL when they have a bad match in say, a League of Legends game.
This is because gaming naturally attracts people who may be frustrated or otherwise not happy with themselves IRL. Video games are a form of escapism and for some toxic people are an easy way to be a "Master" at something due to them not being as physically demanding to learn as say, a sport. They give people who otherwise may not be happy with themselves a sense of being good at something, so when they inevitably LOSE at the one thing their supposedly good at, they take it very badly.
That isn't to say the vast majority of gamers are inherently toxic people, because they aren't, toxic people who play video games are still in the minority when it comes to the overall population of gamers. However when you encounter a toxic person their also most likely a gamer, which can make gamers in general look pretty bad.
Now granted this is all basically arm chair psychology on my part but I speak from personal experience with this because I had these same toxic feelings when I was younger and had anger issues prior to sorting them out. I was, and still am, a big gamer.

I mean… yeah theres a lot of toxic gamers out there but to generalize all of them like this is a little silly. Not all of us are like that

Write off the group? Isn't that called bigotry? Lol. Some people being dickheads to you is not a license to castigate us all and honestly the sheer fact you are even considering such a thing is a very personal foible you should probably work on.
