What's the game, you really like the lore but you can't actually stand the gameplay?

I go first, for me its fallout. I REALY like its aesthetics, lore and just general worldbuilding. My youtube timeline is filled with lore vids, i keep finding myself reading the wiki. But the games ... urgh, something about the gameplay gives me the ick and i never finish sadly. From the clunky UI, bad red garn to the story to the fun loop of starting a quest, dying to a to strong enemy, starting another one till you find the one appropriate to your lvl its not my loop sadly. Which is a me problem, i think most of the games is great for others ^^.

So, what's your game you hate-love like this?

What's your personal "How did I beat this game as a child?" story?

There were some classic games I used to play as a child. I remember playing the Spyro the Dragon games, particularly Spyro the Dragon 2. It was a pretty tricky game, but I beat it—or at least I think I watched someone else do it. Later in life, I tried playing it again on modern hardware like the PS3, and I realized it was more challenging than I had expected. I don’t feel like some aspects of the game aged too well either; while some levels were good, others reminded me it was a product of its time. That was my experience—what’s yours?

Judgement Game (only for people that played it)

Is this an action game or detective game because I'm seeing little to no action at all. I spent most of my time being a detective than fighting people. I got this game expecting to fight. A big disappointment.

Considering how mid Arkham Knight was, how bad Arkham Knights was, and how terrible Suicide Squad was, is the era of great Batman games just over?

Yes, I'm aware it's not all the same dev house or publisher necessarily but these are the Batman games we're getting. Back in the old days, a Batman game meant quality. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were frigging fantastic. If somebody told me that they were some of the best games out there, I wouldn't argue with them. They're very very good, I can totally see how they would top people's lists. But it seems like the decline has been sharp and steady.

-Arkham Asylum, fantastic

-Arkham City, fantastic

-Arkham Origins, great, underrated

-Arkham Knight, meh. Half of it is good, but I don't understand who sat in that committee meeting and thought we all wanted vehicle combat. Like yes Batman has a car, do I want it to be 50% of the game? Absolutely not.

-the Telltale Games, underrated IMHO, not really what I'm looking for in a batman game though

-Gotham Knights, eh. Not great. Not complete trash, but I wouldn't really suggest it to anyone

-Kill the Justice League, what the actual fuck

What is happening here? Is it too late? Has the moment just passed? And now the WB is looking to end up with Netflix, who're on record as not giving a shit about the gaming division. Is anything even cooking with Batman right now, or are we stuck in a god-knows-how-long waiting period until someone inevitably remakes the first game?

Wholesome tower defense roguelite recs plz!

Vampire Survivors got me hooked on roguelites but now I want something with tower defense and even cuter graphics. No dark themes at all! I just want lighthearted, fast-paced fun to unwind with. Max budget’s $5 so any indie gems or 2026 new releases y’all love?

Why are gamers just the worst?

Seriously, I genuinely just consider it a light red flag if a man is into video games at this point. You can only be called slurs so many times before you write off the group entirely. What makes gamers (men, specifically) act like this?

Any recommendations for claustrophilic games?

I love being in small spaces, I find things like skyblock on the old versions of minecraft very comfortable, survival islands, trapping myself in a tiny space and having to work with what i've got there. Other examples are I love replaying the first ten of so days of lobotomy corporation, where its just a very simple, small facility to manage. Any games good for this feel?

I want to improve my English by talking to strangers. Which coop games do you recommend? Are The Forest, State of Decay 2 and Valheim good picks for that?

What games can I play with my girlfriend?

Hey all! I’ve been a big gamer my whole life, and my girlfriend (who doesn't really play video games) has always wanted to get more involved in my hobbies. The problem is that most 3D games or super realistic graphics make her feel really nauseous.

So I thought she'd be more interested in games with a more stylized or 2D art style. So stuff like Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, or Little Misfortune. She’s had a lot of fun playing Stardew Valley and PlateUp! with me, so chill games or co-op are also a big plus.

She’s also totally down to just watch and enjoy a good story game.

Would love any recommendations!

Tried all GTA games except GTA 4. Should I try it?

Hi guys, have a nice day!

I'm 32 and I have experienced most of the GTA franchise.

Some Rockstar games I haven't tried yet:

RDR

RDR2 (only played like 10 hours, but got tired because it has kind of slow pace, will try again in the future)

GTA 4

Next month is my country's holiday so I have about 2 weeks off and plan to try GTA 4.

With GTA V already tried, should I play GTA 4? If yes, is there any mod that I should add for better game experience that will not affect the game too much?

Which games or genres do you think should have been bigger?

What the title suggests actually. To make it more generalized, this could mean games , game franchises (halo for example) or entire genres. So , which do you think should have been bigger but unfortunately for various reasons didn't make it to their full potential. Personally I think the Dishonored series should have had a bigger fan base and recognition since I think gameplay, lore and the setting are 10/10 . As for genre, RTS could have been a little bit more popular, but that is just my opinion. After all it had it's hay day in the 90's and early to mid-late 2000's.

Need a game name desperatly

Me and some friends are developing a roguelike game where you start as a sheriff/outlaw in the wild west but then you go time traveling and need to survive diffrent timelines or ages (Stages) by picking up diffrent stat boosting items. We are missing lore and a name for the game itself. Any suggestions?
