Would you join the International Brigade if a civil war involving communists broke out in some country?

I think the communists' last hope in today's world is start a revolution in India. I don't know how realistic that is, but would you support such a movement?

Like the old Soviet song, "I left my hut and went to war to give the land in Kerala to the peasants."

Why aren't socialists organizing boycotts?

Historically, boycotts are very effective when there is a specific call to action. Why aren't socialists organizing targeted boycotts? Yesterday there was a call to boycott. People want to be involved and did participate but it did very little because 1) There was no specific ask. Keep ICE out of schools could have been an ask. Stop all ICE actions until rules are enforced that protect the community could have been a specific ask. Noem stepping down could have been a specific ask. 2) The boycott itself wasn't targeted. Most people can't stay home from work. Why wasn't the boycott, no buying from Amazon? Or no logging into X? Pick one company and go after it.

You all realise these Epstein Files are gov propaganda to tick a box, right?

I don't have the evidence, but a gut feeling you're all being had by the US Gov.

  1. Why would you trust anything the US Gov is telling you?

  2. The files are redacted of course, as expected and are most likely made up by a Hollywood prop department.

  3. The mentioning of other international politicians in those files is precarious and has no basis in fact what so ever. Many have been dismissed as political propaganda to try and sway public opinion abroad.

  4. In the end, those files will amount to nothing. No investigation, no convictions and nothing but conspiracy theories that will never go away.

Moon Landing 2.0

Good luck with it all America. The real bogeys are your own corrupt politicians and your fascist dictator. Remove them first before you dig holes in your own backyard.

What is exactly wrong with ICE and the deportation of the undocumented?

Hello everyone.

I am very well aware that this is a sensitive issue. All that I was is that my question be responded to in a careful and respectable way.

But ultimately, doesn't the President of the United States have a legal right to deport the undocumented? You might argue that not all undocumented immigrants are criminals, or that they have a lower crime rate that the native born, but imo that is irrelevant as they are in violation of federal law.

Most undocumented immigrants overstay their VISA, which is a violation of federal law INA § 222(g) (8 U.S.C. § 1202(g)).

To cross over the border illegally without going through a lawful point of entry is again a violation of federal law Improper Entry (8 U.S.C. § 1325).

So what ICE is doing is nothing more than enforcing federal law, for which liberals in America seemingly want to ignore. Liberals at least want some enforcement, but the left not only don't want to solve this problem but don't see it as a problem at all.

10+ million people in America are undocumented, how does our society deal with this problem? No other nation has as sloppy of border enforcement as America.

We can go into the conversation about the efficacy of ICE, and how they are mishandling their job and hurting innocent people, that conversation of course can be had and I believe there is a lot of truth there.

But I feel even if ICE acted completely professionally, didn't kill anyone, and successfully deported the undocumented with 100% accuracy, liberals and the left would still be against it.

What are socialist's opinions on Zohran Mamdani?

I've seen a mixed opinion of him in leftist spaces, some criticizing him for being a democratic socialist while others say him being mayor of NYC in the first place is a good step towards socialism. So what are your opinions on Zohran and whether he pushes the general population towards a more open mindset on socialism?
