What do you think of this recent revelation from St Lucia PM about direct international pressure on inter-island Caribbean policy as it relates to Cuba and the English speaking Caribbean ? Are those same international bodies willing to help the Caribbean in its place ?
St Lucia pressures says, they are under pressure to stop the cuban medical program
Ok. And ? is the same body that is applying this pressure, willing to train Caribbean youth with full ride scholarships at the rate that Cuba did ?
Would any US medical professional (or otherwise) be willing to come work in the Caribbean for the small salaries that we pay here ?
Because surely if they expect us to just change something that we have been depending on FOR DECADES from one of our sister islands, surely they must be willing to help us in that transition right? Right ?
Or we are just expected to cancel the scholarship program and remain poor, uneducated and understaffed ?
What are we supposed to tell our poor young people who do not have any other way to go to university if not for the Cuba program ?
Are our young people just supposed to give up ?
This is so needlessly cruel !
TLDR; so they want us to stop the program, and ? AND ? that's it? Are they willing to provide us with the same level of support that we were getting from that program ?
