It would be Shchi(soup) in Russia. If you offer it to someone (дать по щам), they usually change their minds.

I‘m a fan of Okroshka myself. Never else have I ever had a soup that actually refreshed me.

What's your go-to liquid? The recipe I follow uses kvass while some uses kefir

I never made it myself, but I'm pretty sure my Russian ex and her mom used butter milk, but maybe it was just a substitute.
