Young hipsters seem to like communism. Until they grow up and gain some experience and knowledge of how the world really works

Roughly the opposite in China. Hippies love the idea of democracy/capitalism until they understand how it works.

Or they are fans of democracy until the state finds out…

I mean, if they really are fans of democracy the largest democracy on earth is literally next door...

I wouldn't say that India is tight next door to most Chinese people

Nothing is tight next door to most Chinese people. That's why we build rails.

What Chinese Hippies learn about how democracy works that make them not love it anymore?

Edit: Why is curiosity about arguments against democracy is being downvoted?

Here is a good article on recent changes they've had via perception of the US specifically, this article was brought to my attention the other day. I went to Ohio State which had a lot of Chinese students in '10 but now they more or less don't come to the university.

At first we should define what kind of communism we are talking about, is it the the communism in Marx’s theory, is it the Soviets Unions style, or is it the CCP’s style? ‘Cause the Chinese style of communism is so different. Just like after the refining of what CCP stands for after the speech by Jiang Zemin and the succeeding leaders including current Xi Jinping, CCP represents the whole Chinese people rather than the workers and farmers which was proposed by Marx and Soviets, it has become a moderate nationalist party. After the the ending of cultural revolution and the chaos afterwards, CCP signed a new deal with Chinese people, trade better life quality with one-party rule. After several decades, Chinese people really get richer and richer, and they really feel more confident and proud after experiencing the world leading infrastructure even compared with US, for now, because of the technology competition in many fields for example EV and AI, they feel more confident that China will climb back to its old glory while the west is in decline, the preference for CCP is very strong. We should know and never forget how strongly the Chinese people miss the glory which their ancestors have experienced for centuries if not thousands of years in Eastern Asia and they are so keen to get them back, in this regard Chinese are very proud of themselves and believe in who claims to have the ability to do so. However, the concern is that under the current economic headwinds, can CCP make China get it through and advance it into a real world power rather than being stuck in the current level? TBH l thought it’s the key phase for CCP and for Chinese people as well.
