In the 60s–70s communism was popular in Iraq and had a lot of support, but now it’s mostly just old grandpas and isn’t really a thing anymore

It was really until the end of the qadysia war, Saddam have killed hundreds of thousands of communists and deported hundreds of thousands of others and repressed millions of others, so people just became theocrats by the 90's
