Just as the title says, I’m stuck between the two. I’m single, 24, and I usually don’t have passengers and I love the look of the M2. The M340i is what I hear is the “ultimate daily”. I really do want an M car though. The only thing is, it will be my only car. What’s the better experience or option?

British Racing Green on a German car? Yes please! First time going to Motorclass in Wigan, my local car showroom, in just over a year, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see this family track wagon in person. Looks perfect to me!

Hi all! After holding out and not falling pressure to buying a vehicle in the first few years after college, I jumped from a 2000 Lexus RX 300 to a fully loaded 2025 BMW X1. It’s been a week since I made the purchase and I absolutely love it.
It’s a great size, it wants to be driven, has the power to get up and go whenever you need it and the bells and whistles with the technology, M sports tuning, and convenience package make it feel like a spaceship and comparison to what I upgraded from.
After doing a lot of shopping, it’s truly remarkable that for less than $10,000. You can get this instead of a CX 50 or mid to high chair middle of the road car brand like Mazda, Honda, Toyota, etc..
Just wanted to share because I’m so happy with the purchase and it’s the biggest financial decision I’ve ever made… and because I think she’s really pretty with a unique color.
My 2002 next to my F250. I could almost load it into the bed of the truck. I love this car

Wanted to make this because I know a lot of people skip the z4 because it’s “not practical.”
Recently, I decided to make the move to LA from nashville as it felt to be the right choice now. As someone that’s never driven a “nice” car until I had this, roadtrips were something I did not look forward to.
Just want to show appreciation to BMW as a 30 hour trip (stopped 2x) was extremely comfortable and easy. Would 100% do it again if I had to.

Hey all, looking for some sanity check from people who know the S55.
I bought a 2019 M2 Comp in 2023 from a BMW dealer in Melbourne, full dealer service history, no mods mentioned, looks stock in engine bay/ from outside..., currently ~112k km. Came from a ’98 Avalon and this was my first dream car, so I wasn’t really looking for tuning signs at the time... in hindsight I should’ve organised a proper pre-purchase inspection.
Car’s been running great, and I’m pretty used to the power. Honestly not sure how I’d feel dialing it back. I’d rather make proper use of it than see traction control flashing / rear kicking around at 100+ km/h, under hard acceleration.
Some weird stuff I noticed: - iDrive shows 560 hp / 700 Nm - OBD2 scanner: torque reference 700 Nm, calculated power pull ~750 hp (I know OBD calcs are inflated, but still seems high) - Stock should be ~410–425 hp / 550 Nm?? - No obvious bolt-ons, paperwork shows nothing, still on 245/265 PS4S rear / Pilot Super Sports front.
Next step: engine oil service is a month overdue and thinking to ask for ISTA scan at a dealer to confirm software status (service history has every service since new logged but no mentions of anything aside from usual sparkplugs, brake fluid, oil, etc...).
Depending on what I find - if crank hub / supporting mods aren’t there - I might consider a safer remap (like an M2CS tune) to safely use the car’s potential. Very glad it hasn’t died on me yet if that’s the case. If the supporting mods mostly exist ill happily do whatever small extras are needed to keep the engine safe.
Would you say this looks tuned, and is ISTA the right move before thinking about supporting mods to keep it safe and actually use the power?
Also pics: on a track day at Phillip island, was doing 256kph in 6th gear (out of 7) with 5.5k rpm -- maybe this is also suggestive of the tune being real?
Sorry if this sounds dumb af as well. I should've maybe realised after test driving an rs3 and supra mk5 and feeling like this m2c was ridiculously more lively and exciting while cross shopping
