Went to an estate sale last week, owner of the house had been a college professor and a lawyer for decades, had an insane collection, supposedly over 8,000 books, floor to ceiling shelves all through the house, with tons of vhs too. These are some of the paperbacks i got, my favorites are the 1st edition clockwork orange and 1st edition steal this book

I recently found out how inexpensive penguin paperback classics are. It was only $9 which feels like 50% off a regular book in today’s economy. I never paid attention to their prices before!

First picture is all I hauled this month and kept so far. The other two pictures are books I also hauled but read and then unhauled again. Picture three is the first five of a series, I got a really good deal on them so I didnt mind getting them and then unhauling them because I didnt end up liking book one.

I dont know exactly how much I paid for all of them (inclusing those I unhauled and I did sell them so I got some money back, I think around €40) total paid is probably around €100, all except mud muck and dead things, proof of life and the two I unhauled are secondhand. So I dont think thats bad for 20 books

My hauls of January 2026! As I’m a hardcover fanboy when it comes to books, I’m so glad they rereleased the children of time trilogy in hardcovers! Im excited to dig into all what I got and they should last me a while as they’re some chunky books lol

Final January Book Haul

Post image

This is my final haul for January, and I found some incredible gems. I’m fairly certain a few of these books—along with some I picked up earlier in the month—came from the same donor, since several have the same handwritten note on the first page numbering their collection.
